Candidate Finnegan loses civil service fight

Full story: The Ukiah Daily Journal

Mendocino County District Attorney candidate Matt Finnegan did not get his job back from incumbent DA Meredith Lintott after a Civil Service arbitrator rejected Finnegan's side of the story in a scathing opinion which concluded he was antagonistic to women superiors and did not heed instructions.

Are you Finnegan supporters for real? The days of cavemen hitting women over the head with a club and laughing about it are long gone or at least should be. If you haven't already, read Geniella's article at http://theava.com/archives/5802 . His article discussing Finnegan's misconduct is not as watered down as the corporate press version. Either way, I am appalled and think Finnegan may have mental problems. We don't need people like him in positions of power.

Lintott turned out to be a total disappointment and I voted for her last time. I won't make that mistake again, Matt you have my support and vote! Anybody that knows you won't put much credibility in the spin on this article.

It's a public record, public meeting and public agenda. I think the UDJ might want to go to a Civil Service meeting some time and learn something about how the County works (or not).

Dear Friends, let's circle around Matt, join hands and sing "Kumbaya." It is important that we let him know that it is okay to be a boor, to be bad at his job, that his friends forgive and still support him, and that we all recognize his need for a job, any job. Yessiree, go Matt!

I only ran it because I saw it first on the AVA online blog. For all I know they made it up like most of the lies they print. But it might sell a few papers, ok?

that Lintott might be a lesbian if she likes to surround herself with so many women. A little pleasure at work? But then she might be bi - cause she likes to do a little Levi a**-slapping in the office.

Makes one wonder.

Know I know the Lintott is renting here in Ukiah and that her house in Fort Bragg is in foreclosure. It seems to me that the county would not want someone to run the DA office who can not afford to pay her bills. That is just ripe for the possibility of someone being able to get to her and pay her off on a case. I know that while doing background investigations for law enforcement they look into ones personal finances. With her salary and her husbands they are making over 200,000 a year. Makes one wonder what she spends her money on cause we know it is not paying her bills.

I will take Finnegan any day over someone who can not pay thier bills. And she expects the residents of Mendocino County to be law abiding. But she can't pay her bills. Well I guess that is what you get when you elect a Lesbain to run the DA office.

So this is the guy whose union wants *more* money to do their paid-for-by-the-public-taxpaye r jobs this year and, rumor has it, refused to take any financial hit last year? Arrogant, much?

This is the guy who wants to be the new DA? Anybody who is that deaf and dumb regarding the political and fiscal environment these days has lost my vote.

It's official: Finnegan is qualified to be DA!..since now all 3 candidates have been fired from the DA's office. If you like dirty politics so much, let's air what Massini and Vroman had to say about their firing of Eyster and Lintott!

How does someone represent a criminal and then be running for an office that would prosecute that criminal? Eyster has me confused. Don't think he deserves a vote, or any for that matter.

Work in a courtroom with these people, as I have and you will find the only idiot amongst them is Lintott herself!!! Very very sad. I have no particular opinion towards Finnegan himself. But in a courtroom he seemed to be professional and able to handle himself. I have watched Lintott present herself as the village idiot more than once. I think the DA should be able to represent anything or atleast find the answer. I guess if you feel threatened you can get those people fired... Damn the power!!!

With all the innuendo and venom here against Lintot and Eyester, I'm thinking they're both worth considering for DA. Anonymous attacks tend to do that for me.

Lintot is already DA so her experience for the position seems appropriate and it looks like she had guts to take on union peeps. Sounds good to me.

Eyester seems to have lots of experience as well and seems to understand the marijuana issues.

Both sound way better than Finnegan.

Like all attorneys who are hired "mouth pieces", all three have worked in private practice, undoubtedly representing some reprehensible people, but Eyester is undeniably the best actual prosecutor. Just ask the people in law enforcement who know all three.

That's funny! I forgot that all three candidates have been fired from the DA's office. That's funny!
I think the Union thing was for civil service protection so they couldn't get fired without cause.
