Deborah, tell them all to take a flying **** at a rolling doughnut. How many pharmacies even use the word "apothecary" anymore? Don't let them close you down because of a simple semantics issue.

To the person who commented about Deborah being Jewish: Judaism is a religion, not a race. She named her business from a Hebrew word because it had meaning for her, like naming a child. Another person doesn't need to know the language; that is irrelevant.

Wait a minute! Just what is she trying to pull on us here? I think she's trying to do something underhanded, like earn a living in Sanctuary Cruz.. Sky Meadow Apothecary? Sky? This store doesn't have anything to do with the sky. Or a meadow, for that matter. What do our state laws say about that? What about Second Harvest Food Bank? Is that a bank?

I am wondering how Ms. Schatan got her license to operate her business with the word "apothecary" in the name of the business in the first place IF she is required to have a pharmacy license to use that word !.. I see this as a problem for the beaurocracy that failed to spot THEIR mistake !
Ms.Schatan is not trying to scam anyone. But unfortunately the DRUG companies have a much bigger lobby than she does..( Follow the money?)
BTW, the word apothecary is dervied from the latin for "storehouse"... and the Greek, "to put away".....

Or.....apottocarry?
Anyhow the whole thing is sooo stupid.
People don't even refer to a drugstore as an apothecary. At least not for over a hundred years I would imagine. geez. don't these dingaling officials have anything better to do? Like help straighten up the economic mess the state is in? hmmmm. food for thought.

Perhaps she could just play with the spelling like the Farmacy does. "Apothecarie" or "E-Pothecary" or "AppoThackeray" (just kidding).

Really, it's hilarious that this is enforced when most people have no idea what an apothecary is.

Hey isn't it wonderful to know that our tax dollars are being put to the best possible use as usual... When was the last time anyone filled a prescription at an Apothecary???? Maybe a hundred years ago? The word is really just fodder for history buffs and maybe the occasional Jeopardy answer, really now...
