Keep it up TEACHERS.
CHECK OUT THE CARS THEY DRIVE IN THE PARKING LOT.
IT LOOKS LIKE A NEW CAR SHOWROOM.
THESE TEACHERS MUST GET LAID OFF!
They don't contribute to their health care.
They get a generous pension.
They get raises every year.
It's still not enough!!!!!
BREAK THE TOWN and BREAK THE STATE!
LAY THEM OFF NOW!
NOT TOMORROW NOW!

You clearly do not have children and or care about educating children. Come teach for a month and see if I dont deserve to drive the car I do. Dont for get we went to college and paid our dues and we start off at 40000, where are business majors walk out into the workfield with opportunities to move up much faster and make more money. think before u speak

please the teachers have unlimited sick days and make nearly 75k after tenure and at the age of 26. They complain about everything as far as paying for college they get a big discount for going to school to become a teacher, and they are off all summer long. Must be the best job in the world...you can even have your kids go to the school dist. you work in....

Teachers make $75k after tenure? Really? And at 26? So...they'd start teaching immediately after college (22) to make tenure at 26 and they'd go up $35k in those for years? Sounds likely. Unlimited sick days too? Wow. And summers off? You mean for the ones who don't teach summer school? Who don't step forward and take the responsibility for the kids that people have today but don't seem to want the responsibility of raising?
Maybe if more money and commitment was put into education less money would need to be put into a police force, courts, unemployment services, welfare and social security.

Bottom line - if you don't take the pay freeze and start contributing to your own health care premiums like the rest of us I for one will vote NO on Bergenfield's budget. If you teachers have pissed off someone like me who's a big supporter of universal healthcare and continuing education (2 or 4 years depending on the kids talents and interests) so our kids can compete in the Global Marketplace then you've really misjudged the "public mood".
