Why is Berea McDonald's .35 higher on their menu items than the Richmond McDonald's? This is before the tax is included!

I have noticed the very same thing. I wonder if different franchisees are allowd to fractionally change prices?

There is a tax in Berea that goes to tourism. Instead of paying six percent you are paying nine percent for every dollar you spend.

The same reason why Richmond and Berea Walmart have different prices on things, because they can. Yes, it's that simple

Exactly!! I recently was traveling through McKee and stopped at the Sav-A-Lot. I was amazed at the price difference, much more reasonable than Berea's S-A-L.

As bad as it sounds, too bad the Berea Wal-Mart just don't go ahead and put Sav-A-Lot out of business like it did all the other grocery stores.

Don Combs and his buddies (investors) own about all of the Save-A-Lot stores in the area and they have enough money to run them at a loss if for nothing more than a write-off for other ventures.

The Berea area has higher prices on most everything sold in our community. Do not know why but they do. We travel to Richmond and spend our money there because it pays us to drive the distance.
With four children we cannot afford to just give money away. Sure, we would love to spend it in our community but we just cannot. We have to save our money every way we can. I do not agree with the 9% sales tax on Berea dining. They are only pushing people to buy elsewhere.

Bev, while reading your post I began to think for a moment how much money we don't spend in Berea.

My wife shops at Kroger or Meyer.
We buy adult beverages in Rich for home consumption
When we eat out it is always in Rich. or Lex.
75 or so percent of fuel is bought in Rich or lex
Supples for my business comes from Rich or Lex

All of our home furnishings, with the exception of Hays Furniture, came from Rich or Lex. Anything you can get at Wal-Mart can be found on Amazon and if you are on one of ther programs shipping is free or nearly so and cheaper than Sam's Club and no driving.
