Bill Brown passed away Friday, June 19th of a heart attack.

The streets of Berea will be a little lonelier now.

Rest in Peace Bill....

Can you tell me a bit more about, Mr. Brown? Where he lived or a description of him?

Hey Diddle,

I knew you would be one of the first to respond.

Bill was the old guy that rode around Berea all hours on the yellow tricycle with the basket and the Jackrussell terrior, Sabrina. Waving to many, American flag flying from somewhere. He would pop up at most town gatherings, riding by and grinning. He knew folks all over town, including my kids and myself. Any birthday party, or sports event they had outdoors, he could be seen chugging along on his cycle and wishing us well.

I've lived in Berea about 6 years, but I'd say he was a legend in Berea, akin to maybe Big Worl' in Richmond.

He lived in the housing authority close to Parker Seal building.

And Diddle, i enjoy reading your posts.

ps...i'm not usually big on capitalisation ala eecummings style, however i felt Bill deserves due respect...

Several years ago I had the pleasant opportunity to do a reapir for a gentleman who lived in a rental at the bottom of cemetery hill. I don't recal his name.

He road a bike all over Berea with a little puppy in the handlebar basket. Even a little hole for the puppy to look out of when he caried a Vote For... sign. This may or may not be the individual you speak of.

What I can say about this individual, from a personal point of view, is that I have never felt more sorry for a person in my life.

When I worked for him, he had recently lost his puppy and from talking to him, the puppy meant the world to him. In a word his companion and best friend.

If this is the same individual, I hope he can spend the next 10,0000,00 years riding along with with his friend.

Diddle, I think you're thinking of a different older gentleman that rode his bicycle with his dog. That dog did pass away but the man is still living. I'm sorry I don't know his name. Bill lived on Brown street. And he also rode around with his little dog.
