Jonathan Shell 36th District
Concerned Farmer

Lexington, KY

#71 Nov 2, 2012
I am a young farmer with family values first off. Today I was at the stockyards and guess who I see. Jonathan Shell and Jared Carpenter. What a good mix. Doesn't Shell stand for family values? Why would he hang with Jared or want to be seen with him considering what he has done? I guess Jonathan's little wife will be next. I do believe Jared's wife had just had a baby when he decided to be unfairthful. That crew will not get my support!

I will be voting for Jonathan Shell. Jonathan has been a farmer all his life, but he has never owned a farm/gossip store. He has never been fired for stealing from his employer. He has never been man of the year for the ribbon cutter association, but was endorsed by the Kentucky chamber of commerce. You would think they would have found a candidate that was a chamber member, I guess there wasn't a good one running. Jonathan is pro family, he and his wife are expecting, and are foster parent in the process of adopting. Last but not least he has never stolen anyone's wife.I think Jonathan will be a good choice for State Representative of the 36th district. The sooner Greg Stumbo is gone the better.

“Nuts” if you think I don’t know what I’m talking about concerning Lincoln County, I challenge to something. Tell me when the last time Lincoln County has voted for a democrat candidate over a republican candidate in the state representative race? It’s hasn’t happened in our lifetime. It may have never happened. You’re right on the number of registered voters (which did surprise me a little bit) but they’ve overwhelmingly voted republican in the general election and have done so for half a century. IF,(big if) redistricting happened to put Lincoln and Garrard in the same district it will do nothing but help “Little Jon, Jon”. You’re delusional if you think Lincoln County would work against Shell. Besides, I’m not sure why we’re even discussing Lincoln County. It has nothing to do with the 36th district election. I’m worried about you. I believe you’re feeling a little pressure. It will be alright, Tuesday will be here soon. The good ole’ boys will probably still hang out at the farm store and they can talk about the time the Governor came and took his picture with Buddy.

The reason there was no response because he wasn't asked those questions but if u read the Berea Citizen it plainly tells u that he has the same beliefs!!!! Just sayin....
Wrong. You need to check your facts before posting.

The questions were from a candidatate questionnaire distributed by the Commonwealth Policy Center,a non partisan non prifit orginization.

Bud may say he is consevative but we have heard this many times from a democrat but when elected, they vote against family values.

I am the wife of Bud Montgomery. I received a phone call this morning from someone regarding your remark Mr. Fire Stumbo, which makes no sense by the way. I want to make one thing VERY clear. Bud stole me from no one!! Get your facts straight. After reading a few of the comments on here, it is very clear some people will stoop to no ends to win an election. I am glad our maturity level is above that. There is only a few people I that would stoop this low. Would you like names? No need, God knows.

Greg Stumbo has done more for Kentucky than any republican ever has. His best accomplishment was catching the corrupt Governor and his sidekick Andy Barr! So Greg continue to stand up for what is right and keep on trucking!

Okay, now the child that Jonathan Shell has in his political ads makes sense. I received a political ad/postcard from Montgomery saying that Jonathan Shell is regularly photo'd holding a child, and he and his wife do not have children. Shame on you Montgomery, this is a low blow. They are foster parents and in the process of adopting, also his wife is expecting! They are most defiantly parents.

Just because a child is not yours by "blood" that makes them no less your child. Kind of calling the kettle black isn't it? Montgomery states on the same postcard that he is married and the father of 2 children. It was has been called to my attention that the oldest child goes by a different last name, not Montgomery. It would have stupid and cruel to call out that this is not his children, calling out Jonathan Shell is no different. Shame! Dear Lord, you don't have to be "blood" to be a parent of a child and they should know this, much less send out political ads slamming someone else that they aren't parents because of "blood" relationship. The Shells so far haven't sent out any ads defending themselves for being foster parents & expecting, but I doubt they will.

In spite of all the mud slinging, I am voting for Montgomery. The reason, I think he is the best qualified and will do the best job. I just din't think a 24 year old can handle the job in Frankfort, nothing personal. Also, Montgomery just has more life, business, leadership experience. It is just a shame to sling the mud.

Fletcher didnt do anything that democrats had not done for years. The only difference is that Fletcher was a conservative republican and not a liberal(democrat claiming to be conservative).

It was even told on a local news program by a former democratic governor that this type of thing had went on for years by democrats.

As far as age, what does it have to do with anything?

LMAO, this is a crock of Bull. You have Bushs, Fletcher, Williams, Farmer and the list goes on and on. Now that they were caught and discredited you want to throw them to the Democrats and say "Oh they aren't real conservatives". Give me a break, you voted for them and now want to play victim to their deception. Shell and Jared Carpenter are one in the same. Age has nothing to do with it when you are looking for a canidate that can be controlled and manipulated. I am voting for Bud, because I think he can think and make decisions on his own. Shell lacks the experience and social skills needed to lead.

Who says that a 24 year old can't be a leader and do a good job in Frankfort. With age also comes opportunity to have too many "friends" in high places.

I'm sure he'll have fresh ideas and not be so willing to have his pockets lined. Mr. Shell has more social skills than any other person he has ran against and at least he is approachable. He has moral standards and hasn't stooped so low to degrade his opponent. Sad that people make accusations rather than telling the TRUTH!

I didnt say that they 'were not conservatives',you need to read the post again.

How in the world can you say that Shell and Carpenter are the same? That is about the biggest bunch on liberal nonsense that I have heard and I have heard some.

Since this is true according to your warped way of thinking, then you are the same as Bill Clinton, you have to be according to what you have said, you voted for him so you have to be like him.

Now,if you want to talk about democrats that are less than desirable, lets start with obama.

He was and is very good friends with terrorists that tried to blow up the WTC back in the 70's and has not denounced them once.

Then theres Bill Clinton, far from a role model for anyone that has any sense of morality at all.

Then you have Greg Stumbo that fought child support.

Then there is Gov. Brashear,he has made medicaide a complete mess for the poor of this state.

The list goes on.

It has been in the paper's for weeks how that several area doctors and hospitals and several around the state will no longer take some of the plans.

St. Joseph will no longer be part of one program and never was part of another one, that only leaves one plan left.

It is a mess, the poorest of the poor are getting treated terrible by an inept governor that doesnt have a clue and that doesnt care.

Republicans tried to tell the gov. that he was changing the programs to quick and without really setting things up the correct way but gov. Beshear wouldnt listen.
