I don't know how many fatalities it takes at the intersection of 1016 and 421 before our elective represenatives do whatever is necessary to put up a caution light, or stop light at this intersection to keep their friends, neighbors and relatives from getting killed at this deadly intersection. It's not like they don't know this problem exist. Maybe they need to be replaced. Sincerely, Concerned.

I agree! Something should have been done with that intersection along time ago

I came upon it right after it happened. You could not tell what kind of vehicles they were. God bless those injured or killed, and their families. PLEASE, "powers that be" do something with this road.

That intersection wouldn't be a danger if it wasn't for the idiots that turn their turn signal on at the 421/25 split, and then leave it on until they arrive at their destination. Since that seems to be too complicated, hopefully Kentucky will pony up the money to fix both those intersections.

When I first moved here, that section confused me. I can easily see how someone who doesn't travel that area much would be confused. There needs to be flashing caution lights, I think it would help alot.

There was a coution light there years ago. You can see part of the original post in the island seperating the roads. Why it was taken down is anyone's guess.

I have traveled that road for 45 years and there has never been a caution light there, but there needs to be.

There was most certainly a caution light there. And in asking around, I found that it was taken down sometime in 1974 due to maintenance issues. It seems that the pole on the right side coming south was constently being knocked down. Oscar Rucker has owned property at the intersection for over 50 years and will tell you the same thing as can some of Potts and Poff families. There were three caution lights on that stretch of road, one at Kingston, one at the 1016/421 split and two near the depot.

I stand corrected. I would have been a little kid in 1974 and most likely do not remember the lights. I do know the families you are speaking of. I take your word for it because you are 100% correct on all of the Kingston area families.

I might have sounded a bit tart in my comment but I did not mean it to be that way so please accept my apology. It is hard sometimes to convey what we sometimes say on boards that don't allow emotocons. I am just a 50+ year old, tired, over-worked, pickup driving, boot wearing, blue collar stiff hopeing to make it to some sort of retirement.

Be Well..
