Unfortunately, as long as the board members continue to support and allow a certain coach to remain in the league AND some parents are willing to allow their children to play for him (just so they are winners) despite his HORRIBLE attitude and total lack of sportsmanship, we will never have more than 3 teams playing and the girls/parents quit after a few/couple of seasons. They don't make it to move up because of that man. I personally have been told by several parents that they and their girls quit because of him. I won't allow my daughter (who is a pretty good player) to play on Allstars or traveling team because he is involved. He is a horrible man and shouldn't be allowed to be in charge of children at all. The league reps are well aware of this issue and do nothing about it. We keep losing families because of his attitude. Shame on the league reps and shame on the parents who allow their children to play for him.

My daughter plays for the coach ur talking about on his traveling team and has for the last two years u may have issues with his attituded but he IS one of the best coaches and has helped my daughter greatly. He will lay down and defend his girls till the end hes the first to jump on them and the first to praise them. What do u think your child will recieve in middle or high school not hugs and kisses. The problem is with the youth league and their members.....and just so u know we play against him to and those r always our best games thanks and thank u coach for caring

I have great respect for the coach you are referring to, not only is he an awesome coach but he is also a great father. I have played with him and against him for three years now, and he is truly great at what he does, firm with a loving hand, my daughter has played for 3 years and am grateful for all he has taught her. Sorry that someone has left a bad taste in your mouth for him and the reps, but I do know and believe they are trying to make a difference in are kids life. Please also don't forget these men and women do this all for the kids n the love of the game, they spend their time away from home to help out our children!

sbmom if you have the guts to get on here and vomit lies about a man you don't even know have the guts to post your name. I have coached with and against the coach you are talking about for 3 years now and have never seen him do anything out of line. He coaches hard and expects the girls to do what they are told. He praises them when they do right and corrects them when they do wrong. He is good at what he does and loves the girls. I would love to meet these other parents your referring to I'm not so sure half the crap you mention isn't race motivated. If you have a problem with him as a coach you have a problem with sound coaching. What do you want a coach that is a babysitter instead of a teacher? You show me one girl that has been mistreated and I'll show you a girl that can't be coached and is probably lazy as the day is long. Your dead wrong in your opinion dead wrong.

One of my clients called me and told me to look on this ridiculous sight. Is all of this STILL going on in Berea Youth League? This is ridiculous. This is why Berea can't have anything successful sports programs. I've lived here for 40 years and nothing ever changes. This is exactly why I went to Richmond Girls Softball and Richmond Little League.

Well my daughter has played for this coach for 4 years now. She would rather not play as to play for someone else. He is a GREAT COACH. Others are jealous of him and his girls. You all should keep your negativity to yourselves. He has taught them how to play and spent many many hours on the field with them and that is why they win. He teaches them how to be a team and how to enjoy the game. I am proud of our coach and am so GLAD that he has taken time out of his daily life to teach my daughter. You should think about what you say and think to yourself "Would I take that much time to volunteer myself year after year and not be paid just do it for the girls and for the sport."

Well I just wanted to tell you they don't know what they are talking about he is a great coach and I am very proud he is my daughter's coach. I really wanted him to be my youngest daughter's coach as well but she fell into another team. I would recommend him to anyone wanting a fair and good coach to teach their girls how to play. We also have other coaches that are great as well.

I'm not sure exactly which coach you are talking about, but my granddaughter's coach is absolutely FABULOUS! He, his wife, and the assistant coaches have put in more hours with these girls than anyone I know. They are fantastic people and are the ONLY coaches I have seen who care about whether or not the girls TRULY ENJOY playing the game. Yes, it's nice to win, but win or lose, these coaches make sure the girls learn GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP?

You have never and will never see OUR GIRLS spit in their hands to shake with the other team like another entire team of girls did. They have NEVER slammed their shoulders into the other girls when they have lost a game, like the other girls did.

If my granddaughter had to play for one of the other teams (that does NOT teach good sportsmanship), she would NOT play at all if I had anything to do with it. Coach is terrific and my granddaughter LOVES HIM! He has NOT been unfair or mean to any of the girls on the team and is the most patient coach I've ever known.

I thought this text might be about OUR coach, but as I read on, I knew it could not be. Our coach is all about GOOD sportsmanship and teamwork. Even though his own daughter is on the team, he still manages to be fair with ALL the girls. How many people can say that about THEIR coach?

I love our coach and if I was a young girl, I'd do all I could to get my mom to make sure I was on HIS TEAM! We couldn't have a better coach. He is dedicated to the game, the girls, and to teaching them to have fun with the game, win or lose.

I am behind him 100% as well as all the coaches who assist him!

Sandra Ashcraft, Berea, KY. PROUD GRANDPARENT and supporter of our coach...

By the way Bart is one of our other coaches and a very good one at that. He is very patient with the girls as well. He too has put many hours of his own time with them to teach them the same sportsmanship that our coach has year after year.

My neice plays, and we have enjoyed all her practices and games. Her parents are very hands on and love her very much, I know they would not tolerate anyone being mean or disrespectful to their daughter. Winning is great, and when you win people tend to hate you, and judge you... just sounds like a bitter parent that started this post. Let the kids play and sit down and shut up. And Im pretty sure this coach that your talking about is coaching right now..and I also know the team is still winning..so get over it.

The comment about Amy is very rude and not true. She has always been nothing but nice to me, and my neice. That was a stupid comment and just goes to show that jealousy is sooo ugly on people!!
