My children will not be attending any more dances at Foley. If they are going to close the dances to Farristown middle school then they won't be getting my money for foley any more.

They should have never done what they did. Farristown should not have opened until 2012..Big mistake!

As parents we need to stick together on this.

I think the dance should only include Foley students! Farristown is it's own school, regardless of it's current location. Those students should not be included in any of Foley's activities...in my opinion.

Really, of all the things to bitch about, about the schools you choose a school dance?? Please, give me a freaking break!!!! You must be a Farristown parent, and poor little sally sue or Johnny was upset they did not get included into another schools dance. They are TWO SEPARATE schools, why should either school have to include the other one?? If anyone should be complaining is should be Southern Kids having to deal with Middle schoolers in THEIR school!!! But I don't hear anyone saying anything about that!!! Do you get this upset when Southern has a dance and Farristown is not included in that too?? They do share a school, should'nt they share dances too. Oh, Wait, Southern is using one of Foleys Hall ways (formaly the 6th grade hall way), so I guess Foley should be included in all of Southerns Dances too, and Southern should be included in all of Foley's dances as well!!! There are more important things in life to complain about then some silly middle school dance and who is allowed and not allowed to attend!! Grow up and get a life!!!!

Simple solution:

Have another dance for Farristown students on another day. Soon the students will be in their own school, and this will no longer be an issue. Remember, the dances are an "extra activity" the school DOES NOT have to offer them at all. So, before you start yelling, stomping, and throwing a temper tantrum, maybe someone could call the schools and ask that a dance be held for the Farristown students. Remember, we are supposed to set an example of decent behavior, social tact, and general common sense for our children.

Just a thought.

I have one child at Farristown (6th grade), one child at Foley (8th) and one at Southern (10th). Honestly, I have enjoyed all three of them being in the same area. So much easier while dropping off & picking up. Yes, my 8th grader complains because her little brother attends her dances and yes, my 10th grader complains because her school is over flowing with middle school students.. But it is what it is.. It's not been ALL THAT BAD.. and if your worst complaint is that they attend the same dances , then it looks to me the Madison County Board of Education has done something right... They will eventually be at their own school, and when they are they will have their own dances.. Foley is being nice and inviting them to join them. Really if u think about it, it's smart on Foley's end. They make more money.. So maybe now, you can try and find a better complaint then the school dances!

I don't understand any of this. When my daughter was in Foley my biggest problem was being bullied and when it finally got to where she was hurt. The Principal of Foley no need to mention a name. Looked at me and he couldn't do anything. So if he can't control bullying then why worry about a dance. The problem is not the including Farristown in anything some if its the parents acting should I say dumb about a dance and then they act that way. Kids learn from their parents as much as they learn from the teachers. So worry about the important things YOUR CHILDREN and who is supervising them. Not a dance,
