I see someone is opening another pizza place on 421 across from the Depot. This will be the third time someone has tried to make a go of a resturant in this location. Anyone know anything about Big Tony's Pizza? When is it opening?

These places would have survived if they had of SERIOUSLY ADVERTISED. Depot Pizza was a very good pizza. Better than I had had in years. I had hoped that the Depot itself would have helped it to stay afloat, if only for the lunch crowd, but apparently they didn't.

If they do anything, and they are a seriously good pizza establishment, then they need to advertise further than a sign on a poll in front of only their franchise. They need to broadcast far and wide, in order to prove their worth.

Can they afford to do that? That is the question. How about we help them, if the pizza makes the grade?

I see my name is being used by someone else now. It's okay. I'll share. You register that one, I'll be original.

The name kind of "evolved" through some conversations. I see that you are from location says Richmond. I have the Berea end, even though it doesn't say for sure.

Tell you what, you can register it. I don't plan on keeping it. It just "fit" the occassion, at the time.

I'm not sure when it's opening, but to be honest i can't wait. I live right down the road from it, so it will be nice to have a pizza place so close instead of having to wait forever for dominoes to make it to my house, just hope it's good!

I am a part owner. The other is my brother "tony"(not to be unoriginal). We hope to open about Friday Sept.11. We still have a few problems. We bought a dough mixer and have to have special wiring and one oven motor is gone, about 700 dollars. We have a combined total of 50 years in pizza, and no we aren't that old. Give us a try and tell us we can use all the support we can get.

Looking forward to trying your recipe. My family enjoys a good pizza, but enjoy it even more when we can get it close to home.

no! Oven was supposed to work and didn't... aaarrgh!so today I bought a brand new one. I'm not sure if it will handle enough but we are going to buy one or two more if it is well. If anyone knows of some cheap good and not 3 phase ovens give me a shout.

Why don't you consider building your own brick oven? It would be cheap, fired by wood, and you would become famous. Wood-fired, brick-oven pizza? Everything happens for a reason, maybe your oven breaking is leading you somewhere!

No you don't. Everyone else does that. People will get to know the place, and realize that the pizza takes time, but is unlike any other in town.

Do what you want. There's too many "fast food" pizza choices in Berea. Best of luck to you for pursuing your ambition!

they actually make brick pizza ovens. They are quite expensive. Making my own would be cheap, but time is the least of what I have, maybe someday.

about 2 weeks ,maybe less. should have 1 working oven next week and dough mixer. Sorry its taking a while but we really want to make our own dough and maybe buns. Oct. 1 or before if all goes well from here. we may "soft" open before then and try to work out remaining bugs.
