I agree wrote: Parents are not allowed in the school unless given permission because it is a total distraction for the kids.. They are there to learn not have visitors! While you work, if you had people walking around would you look to see who they are and what their doing or would you keep on working> think about it?! AND the school doesn't allow parents to stand by the door and pick up their kids anymore because it was always a huge mess. AND what if someone came to pick up a child who wasn't on their sign out card - it's much safer this way! The changes are good changes! AND Teachers work "VERY" hard for your children. This year parents were given the option to volunteer to opporate the Fall Festival teachers did not have to, there was only 20 something parents that agreed to do it... that's why Kingston is not having it. You have the right to your own opinion, but as a parent myself......we totally disagree. I have picked up my kids both ways, at the door and waiting in the crazy traffic line for 30-45 minutes. I choose to pick up my kid at the door, much simpler, much easier, less irritating. I understand your ideas of the changes are better.......You must be one of the clueless ones in the traffic line after school that holds up everyone else who is in a hurry, and you don't seem to care about others needs. The last principal made 95% of the rules for 5% of the people. It sucked.

WELL here is a thought Let them ride the bus . That is why traffic is a nightmare at all these schools geesh people wake up cut the cord.

Now only thing that Pisses me off is the THOGHT of ONCE I could be at the school, pick up my daughter from the door,(with face to face communication) get her in car, and be home in around 10 minutes. NOW........Wait in line 30-45 minutes, and pass the bus on the way out of my neighborhood. The bus is now quicker!!! JUST PLAIN STUPID on the behalf of the people who are supposed to be making the smart decisions in my kids life!! Pathetic to say the least!!!

Well I just want to know why so many people drive their kids to school these days. They somehow think the school bus is a horrible place for their children Mine have rode the bus since kintergarten they survived, so di I . Why do u need to chit chat with the teachers anyways? They are busy and dont have time to stand and talk to every parent yet parents think they should carry on this big conversation. That is why they have parent teacher conf. tHERE IS A REASON THEY DO WHAT THEY DO RULES BUT YET SOME PARENTS FEEL THE RULES DONT APLY TO THEM. lIKE I said. Things would run alot smoother if kids rode the bus . Alot less traffic. Its crazy to see parents lined up at 1: 30 in the afternoon waiting on their baby to get out of school. They evidently dont have a life.

They evidently dont have a life. Why do some parents drive kids to school and pick them up from school? Mostly because it WAS more convenient and quicker, but as everyone knows, now THAT is screwed up. Once I picked up my child from school because I had to be at work at 4 p.m. The bus didn't get to my house until 3:40-3:45. I could ONCE pick my child up, be home by 3:15-3:20 and have plenty of time to get to my job, without driving like a maniac or being late. This situation is the same for many, many, many families. BUT ONCE AGAIN THAT WAS TOTALLY SCREWED UP BY THE PATHETIC PRINCIPAL FROM LAST COUPLE YEARS!!! PATHETIC!!! Not to mention, it's the idea of it that pisses everyone off. Again making up 95% of the rules for 5% of the people. I guess you think I am the ONLY parent who complains about this idea???? All you have forgot is the rehearsed line of "It's for the safety of the childern" that they told you to say!!

No it's because I go to school and can't sit around and wait on the bus so yes I must pick them up from school not all of us are afraid of the bus, but what time my child did ride the bus she was bullied by older kids and nothing was done about it, so I also do it for safety reasons...

Well The Drivers are trained very well. I still think some parents look for a excuse cause the kids dont want to ride the bus in the first place Just my opinion. I just hear alot of parents act like the bus is just so terrible. Things happen in the classroom to. We cant protect them from every little thing in life.

Drivers has nothing to do with my reasons. "We can't protect them from every little thing in life?" UHHH NO!! But as a parent, I think it's our job to protect them from EVERYTHING we possibly can, to teach the kids respect, and teach respect is earned. To teach them to help each other, not pick on others. Teach them to make decisions that are right for everyone. Somewhere, at sometime, someone, failed to teach the last principal at Kingston this very important thing!!!

OMG Kingston Dad u can not be serious, it is so much safer now picking our children up from kingston, that's what the school system and us parents should be looking at, not time issues. You must have been one of those not so smart parents who parked behind people so they couldnt get out, yeah im sure it was more convenient, but not for others. I saw so many close call accidents when parents were walking their children in and picking them up, that was crazy. Now it is organized and safer, maybe it takes five minutes longer, but five minutes is worth my child or someone elses childs life. Slow down, take time to think KINGSTON DAD. I applaud Kingston Staff and what they are doing, thank you for making my childs school a safer place!!!! I have taken and picked my daughter up for 6 years now and the past few years this situation has improved tremendously. KINGSTON DAD im glad ur not making decisions for my daughter's school, you sound like a very selfish person We all should be complaining about our PTO because I didn't receive any volunteer information about the Fall Festival either, just a rude letter saying not enough volunteers, how can we volunteer KINGSTON PTO if we dont know anything about it.

You gotta be kiddin right??? Situation improved?? "I" am a selfish person?? again YOU GOTTA BE KIDDIN RIGHT?? This is some kind of joke, or a staff member who's panties are in a wad over other parents saying the same thing. The only selfish people at Kingston are the drag ass people who actually "want" to have someone else hand hold your kid in single file line. Safer??????? Safer????? Just ask a couple of parents who's child was put into a strangers car by mistake! The staff only looks at the "number card" in the window. Hell, Would you like to know how many copies of these "number cards" I have made on a copy machine???? What zombie would think this is "safer" is beyond any stretch of imagination.

You obviously know nothing about her life. She has several children. One of her daughters it identical to her! Given the way things are these days, I don't blame the school for being cautious about who they let into schools - including people who say they are parents.

Oh My God.... even I got that the sex-change comment was said as a JOKE. I've only met Mrs. Young a couple of times, but I have formed a good impression of her. As for the lines.. I hate the pick up lines. They are long and take forever, but I suck it up. But then my kids ride the bus most of the time.
