As far as the food goes, it's good. A little pricey, but good and you usually get a good amount for your dollar. But the inside is NASTY..sticky chairs and tables and the carpet looks like it's never seen a vacuum. So you can use your own judgement.

I love their cheese fries. Never had another place put so much bacon on them as they do. They are very good.

I would recommend having it delivered if you want to be able to consume the food. My husband likes the fried mushrooms, but I REFUSE to eat inside, it has had the same carpet since I was a kid, same chairs, and the cushions are just material; sticky, nasty material. Maybe if they'd cleaned up THAT restaurant instead of opening an ice cream shop for Ashley it'd be ok.

As for now, if I want eat in pizza or spaghetti, I'll go to Papaleno's where you get both great food and the old town ambiance. May cost a little more but to be able to walk around the restaurant without your feet sticking to the floor makes it all worth it.

Mario's has great fried mushrooms, but they do need to remodel for sure.. i dont think they have remolded in years..the place looks terrible inside but some of their food is good..
i think if they would remodel the place business would pick up.. they use to have a neat place to hang out at years ago but they have really let the place run down inside..the carpet is terrible i would be embarrased to have carpet like that.. couldnt cost that much to carpet it and get some new chairs, tables and better lighting...

Fried mushrooms are the best around and they deliver late.

AGree with the need to remodel and to take down that gross moose.

I always wondered why they kept it dark. Guess now I know.

I know this is not a papaleno's thread, but I have to comment on the bathrooms there, they are disgusting, you can see nasty grimmy stuff everywhere.

I would much rather eat at Mario's or Papaleno's than the other places in town. They have more character, and you are supporting local bussiness when you eat at these places. My personal pick between the two would be Papaleno's. Great food!!

Illegal to do so unless there is a complaint filed with the health department.

Suprise inspections, without justification, is sort of like the police stopping you and searching your care for no reaon.

The police can't stop you without any justification, BUT they can make something up, as in "they saw you swerve" etc. Same with the health department I would assume. Not saying you're wrong by any means DIDDLE...but places do seem to go around the rules.

I am in a number of several local groups and message boards. Your complaint has been voiced on everyone single of them.

I defence of Jeremy and Brad Lewis, I don't think this is a self inflected and ignored problem. That is a college building. It would be my thinking that the college's position is; If you want better restroom facilities, then you build them - we won't.

Years ago renting from the college was the cheapest rent in town for a small business owner.
I am sure you remember the old buildings on the east side of Short street. Dirt cheap rent and the facilities maitenance maintained them fairly well.

As time pased the college chose to up the rent, leave the maintenance to the renter and leave the upgrades to someone else. None of the buildings, leased or rented for private ventures, were part of the original plan so all of the buildings are pretty well dated and limited in their duties.

You should have worked at WKXO in the 70's when it was on the college square. Standing up on the comode to get in and out of the toilet was an accepted method of ingress/egress. The cooling tower pump in the radio station basement was connected to the cooling tower on top Papalenos.
Part of the radio station electric came from B&B and some came from Slone's basement.

I know it's not funny but I still have to chuckle at some of the antics that were done to get something to actually work.

For example, see what they did to Madison Garden after they took Richmond on over sunday sales.
