Someone made a comment on the wrong topic above. It was about the used car place that Sean Gentry had going toward richmond on US 25 North. Lots of stories about bad deals there. Anybody know what happened...Where is he/

I wrote that about Sean Gentry's used autos because the story of Britton's dealership reminded me of what happened to someone in my own family.I accidentally posted it on the story of the driver of the handicapped van who got in trouble in several different ways.

I bet that if you checked other dealerships they do the same exact thing. I wouldn't buy anything from any "new" car dealer in this county. "Cough-Cough" the one that went to Richmond. However I would buy from Near New I have heard nothing but great things about them.

The ones in financial trouble, maybe, but this is the sort of thing that's hard to hide because as soon as someone sees it on the credit report they're going to raise hell. Which is what happened in this case.

It's an old dealership tactic that has gone on for years. There is a law to catch this which no one really heres about it anymore or less than usually. If you remember this is why they signed sarbanes oxley into law. I am almost certain it will come out in court. If in fact the are found guilty they should spend time in jail thinking about it. It's sad that people would do this for a company that will impact their personal life.

what about wendell combs, wasn't he part owner? I can't believe they thought they would get with this. They should have known that the banks would catch on. talking about stupid criminals.

No, he wasn't. He used to be and when Britton's started getting low on cash they tried to get him to come back in. My guess is that he saw the mess they were in and said see ya. Wendell owns the land the dealership is on, but not the business itself.

There was another dealer (used) in Berea about 20 years ago who pulled these same trickes. He too was caught.

Yes, Sean was also a crook. I heard WAY too many stories about him to ever consider buying anything from him.

You need to leave Danny alone!!! I have known him for many years...he is like my 2nd dad!! He is a very good person he has done a lot for me and family. He just made a bad decision...he may of not had a choice but to go along w it. U know the economy isn't doing well right now...he might of been put out of a job he has 2 children he has to take care of.

I don't know his situation but I do know he is a crook! I know he fired people that had families to suport. Turn about is fair play in my book!

Everyone involved at Britton's deserves what they're going to get. They have messed up dozens of people's credit scores because of this ordeal. Now these people (with kids and families) cannot buy a house or get a loan because Britton's screwed up their credit.

If you've got 2 kids to support and aren't making enough money or your workplace wants you to do something illegal, then find a new job, don't mess up other people's futures because you're selfish.
