recently I tried to buy sudaphed, for severe sinus congestion at walgreens. I was told that the phamacist had made the decision that anyone without a madison coulty liscense could not buy this product.

Noe Mr, educated pharmacist, just because I live in rockcastle county does not give you the right to discriminate aginst me. I find it disturbing that you with your education have the audacity to decide that I am going to make meth

walgreens in berea sucks and should be removed from this town. all they have done is lie since they came to berea starting with how they were going to be open 24 hours...NOT! I would not buy anything there, nor will my family. walgreens needs to leave town because berea has enough pharmacies here with out that stupid high priced place.

It is a product of the meth problem. People who are not meth heads don't realize how bad it is. Since KY made it a law to put Pseudoephedrine behind the counter and limit how many grams a person can buy per month there are hundreds of people traveling all over the state and neighboring states trying to get what they can to support their addiction. The pharmacists are being watched closely by the state to make sure they are abiding by the rules and that makes some pharmacists reluctant to sell to anyone from out of town. Thank your local drug addicts for being turned down instead of bashing the pharmacists who are just trying to keep their jobs to provide for their families.

Walgreens is best place! If I can get at Walgreens, that is where I get it. The staff is friendly, others places could take lessons from them. It is a great store!

haha...that is why walgreens has not been doing so good in berea because they are not as good as some of our other local mom and pop pharmacies. they are way over priced and do not beneifit anyone. i would have never approved of another pharmacy coming to berea if it had not stated they were going to be 24 hour pharmacy. the closest 24 hour pharmacy is lexington. so if you get sick as i did on a sunday evening after 6 then you either have to do without your medications until the next day or drive all the way to lexington to fill your scripts. every town should have a pharmacy where you can get medications at any time. you cannot plan when youi are going to get sick and have an emergency. berea so desprately needs a 24 hour pharmacy to accomatdate sick people in our area otherwise move the f on out because you are not helping the problem at hand. like how many pharmacies does one town need that is not open after 6 on a weekend? none that is how many!

While I agree with you on the fact that Berea needs a 24 hr pharmacy, how is that solely the problem of Walgreens? Its not. Why not have one of these "mom & pop pharmacies" as you called it, become 24 hours?
I also agree with how many pharmacies does one small town need? All you see around here are pharmacies, gas stations and Churches. It would be nice to have a little variety.

Walgreens operates its stores 24hrs where the communities support it. It is a business not a community service. When the majority of the population of a community sleeps at night there are not enough people out at night using the pharmacy. No business can survive when they pay more in overhead than they produce in revenue. As for Walgreens not doing well in Berea, you must have some old info. They have new pharmacists there now that people enjoy and they are growing the business. Walgreens isn't just some out of town corporation that's out of touch with the community, it's local people working and doing their best just as there are local people working the mom & pop pharmacies.

<quoted text>Thats nothing. They wouldn't fill my Oxycontin Presription just because I had a prior conviction of obtaining Oxycontin with a fake prescription.

Who do they think they are anyhow????
Walgreens wouldn't fill it? Or was it the pharmacist working at Walgreens that wouldn't fill it? Maybe that pharmacist decided that obeying the laws that govern his/her profession therefore ensuring continued employment was of greater importance than putting his/her income on the line for someone who has shown a propensity for breaking the law. The pharmacist can be held liable for filling fraudulent prescriptions.

The pharmacy wouldn't sell you Mucinex, something that you can walk into any pharmacy, Walmart, or gas station and pick up and take to the cashier at the front of the store and pay for without the pharmacy ever knowing or caring about?
