The Bella Vista POA is seeking more money from the city. Right now, the POA leases the police station and fire station buildings to the city for $650.00 per month and wants to increase this lease agreement from $650.00 per month to $14,000.00 per month!! That's no typo, increase to $14,000.00 per month!

A comment that the mayor made was that the members who are city residents already paid for these buildings.

The time has come to tell POA General Manager Tommy Bailey to GO TO HELL!!!

Rofl...and here I thought folks like you believed your POA problems would be resolved after the last election at which time you voted in 3 of your own.

The only whistlin' I heard was the hot air that exuded from your puckered rear orifice and was later inhaled by fatso Tommy Baily and his POA board director minions: Ed Morgan, Tim Hull, Kelli Russell ("B" that rhymes with witch), David Houk, and David Allen.

Do the math. That's four against three. You had five against three but George DeGroot died and once and for all, we finally got rid of that board appointed P.O.S.!

Sorry.

Five against three. George DeGroot made six against three.

Now five against three.

The city just recently raised property taxes by 1 mil. like 2 months ago!

If the POA goes forward with this new lease agreement with the city, property taxes will probably go up again in Bella Vista.

The end result is the POA can then kiss my ass. No future POA assessment increases for a very very long time!

The POA's attorney sure has spent a lot of time and money attempting to convince Bella Vista residents that the Bella Vista POA is a respectable organization and an asset to the community.

If Mrs. Clark-Fittro truly thought that the POA was reputable and dependable, why did she choose to buy a home and start a family in another town.

Her fermented politics are likely the direct result of not having to bear the results of her own actions and decisions.

BAH HUMBUG!

With property and home values dropping like a rock in Bella Vista, I'm taking advantage of the people and the situation. I'm buying property up on the cheap. More rental properties for me!

If Bella Vistans who abhor high city taxes to benefit the POA cash cow would rather relocate then perhaps they had better do so and decrease the surplus population!

Why not buy now to add to the rental homes already here in Bella Vista. Around 10% of the homes are already rentals, then add another 10% or so that are either in foreclosure or abandoned, and things are looking rather bleak.

If we could get out of ours even what we paid for it, forgetting about the improvements we've made....we'd be long gone.

Unfortunately, I fear our son will be left someday to try to sell this place. This has turned into a classic example of what NOT to do. Thanks Cooper....you have left us with a failed planned community in a drive thru city in a flyover state.

Tommy Bailey, the current POA General Manager, was formerly the POA's financial officer. Bailey's background ground is that of an accountant (bean counter).

When the GM position became available, a former POA board promoted from within and hired Tommy Bailey instead of searching or advertising outside the association for the absolute best possible candidate as a GM. What they did was take the safe route because they knew him versus taking the risk of hiring someone outside who they did not really know.

What happened is what is known as the "Peter Principle".

The Peter Principle is a belief that, in an organization where promotion is based on achievement, success, and merit, that organization's members will eventually be promoted beyond their level of ability. The principle is commonly phrased, "employees tend to rise to their level of incompetence."

The principle holds that in a hierarchy, members are promoted so long as they work competently. Eventually they are promoted to a position at which they are no longer competent (their "level of incompetence"), and there they remain, being unable to earn further promotions.

Ironic, because that is the exact same way Kenny Farmer got his job as police chief. Rather than openly solicit competent and qualified candidates, Frank Anderson decided to bump him up, despite his lack of experience and merit. And look where that decision has lead.

When you stop to think about it, most of Bella Vista's problems are somehow related to honest procurement practices. This includes the securing of goods, services, and employees. And they do this despite the legal prohibition and the welfare of the citizens.

Find a current list of members of the local Rotary Club.....you'll find many names of the BV good old boys club.

Looks like Chief Sims is out partying it up while Bella Vista families burn alive.

You would think that if your primary job was to put out fires that you might think to check the hydrant system to ensure that you could actually put out fires.

Maybe he was too busy putting on the big dog and pony show that airs every Monday morning in front of the Bella Vista fire station.

Local Rotary Club? I call this "club" a clan. Some of the clansmen are currently in elected or appointed positions with the city or at one time were associated with the city or the POA board.

I live in Bella Vista and am a very active person.

The POA only gets assessment income from me. Only $24.00 a month, that's it! I give them no more money than this. I will not support this association any more if I can help it. I absolutely refuse.

Here is what to do. Do what I do. Just drive by the POA golf courses, POA lakes, and other POA amenities like they do not even exist. You live within the city limits, so just pretend that the POA is not there.

I'm an avid golfer too. Just NOT anymore in Bella Vista.

If the POA seeks an assessment increase in the near future, I will vote against this measure and will encourage my neighbors and friends in Bella Vista to do the same.

But, if the POA cleans up their act and cooperates with the city, I will then advocate an assessment increase and use and support the POA amenities.

I like your idea. Boycott the Bella Vista POA in 2013.

For me, that will be no POA photo ID card, no POA golf value card & green fees, and no POA golf cart registration.

The only money the Bella Vista POA will get from me in 2013 is my $24.00 assessment each month and not a penny more!

Let's boycott the Bella Vista POA in 2013.

Why is the POA charging anything for the buildings? They are already paid for, and we all know that once the mortgage is paid off you never have to spend another penny on the upkeep or future replacement. A commercial building built by a community developer is always of the highest quality and should last several hundred years. The main fire station and police station are only 35 years old they should have zero cost of ownership. The current rent just about covers the cost of insurance, but really, the insurance company should just waive the premiums because how likely is it for someone to get hurt by our police department or a kid to fall off a fire truck on a tour. It is not like these buildings are open to the public or anything.
