Ok kelly school has confirmed cases of H1N1 , and haven't informed the parents of this, I know a family that has it 100% for sure, come on Kelly dont turn into Sikeston schools and hide things to keep the kids in school so you can make money.

I think they need to have a place on there web site to list these kinda things among others, just a thought.

And before I get a smartass comment from someone, I have a young child at home and a couple children in school, therefore yes I am worried

Well you should act like everyone has it, wash your hands several times a day and cover your mouth when you sneeze with the inside of your elbow not your hands and people dont send your kids to school with a fever! Even if there are cases of H1N1 thats not the most scariest thing going around the schools there are other dieases out there to that are worse and can be with you the rest of your life. Kelly's elementary principal got mad at my sister because she didn't send my nephew to school and he was exposed to H1N1 there is your problem right there.

Yes, cause "raising hell" will help SO much. There are all kinds of flus going around right now, kids get them, parents send them to school, and so on and so forth. It's not new.

I heard that they our not testing for h1n1 no more but they are testing for type A flu and if you have type A flu they are treating it like h1n1.

I am an employee at the school and our custodial staff is trying very hard to keep the flu under control with h1n1 certified disinfectants spraying everything the kids touch from light switches to lockers and door knobs not to mention the desks everyday. i have heard of cases of the regular flu being there but not h1n1 so be glad we are doing all we can to help the situation unlike other schools i have talked to sikeston being one. we are one of the few schools working hard to keep the flu down to a minimum thats why we are still in session. thank you for reading

Not trying to sound mean here but H1N1 is the type A flu. A seasonal flu shot will not help you not get the H1N1.

both type a and the seasonal flu will live on a hard surface such as a desk top for 25minutes to 2 hours. so unless the janitors are disenfecting the classrooms between classes the viruses are just spreading all over all day. alot of the kids are just passing it back and forth.
sad but true

Ok...if they call parents and say that there have been students confirmed with H1N1 there are ignorant parents that would take their kids out of school. This isn't bad because the school would "lose money" it's bad because your damn kids NEED to be in school!!! There are people with H1N1 at Wal-Mart too, and EVERY other place, are you going to lock yourself in your house? That's just dumb. Wash your hands, cover your mouth, that's it, we can't freak out every time there is a sickness, there are thouands out there, get over it.

In 1919 when the flu killed 40 million people there was this Doctor that visited the
many farmers to see if he could help them combat the flu. Many of the farmers and their family had contracted it and many died.
The doctor came upon this one farmer and to his surprise, everyone was very healthy.
When the doctor asked what the farmer was doing that was
different the wife replied that she had placed an unpeeled onion in a dish in the rooms of the home,(probably only two rooms back then). The doctor couldn't believe it and asked if he could have one of the onions and place it under the microscope. She gave him one and when he did this, he did find the flu virus in the onion. It obviously absorbed the bacteria, therefore, keeping the family healthy.
Now, I heard this story from my hairdresser in AZ. She said that several years ago many of her employees
were coming down with the flu and so were many of her customers. The next year she placed several bowls with onions around in her shop. To her surprise, none of her staff got sick. It must work..(And no, she is not in the onion business.)
The moral of the story is, buy some onions and place them in bowls around your home. If you work at a desk, place one or two in your office or under your desk or even on top somewhere. Try it and see what happens. We did it last year and we never got the flu.
If this helps you and your loved ones from getting sick, all the better. If you do get the flu, it just might be a mild case..
Whatever, what have you to lose? Just a few bucks on onions!!!!!!!!!!
Now there is a P. S. to this for I sent it to a friend in Oregon who regularly contributes material to me on health issues. She replied with this most interesting experience about onions:
Weldon, thanks for the reminder. I don't know about the farmers story...but, I do know that I contacted pneumonia and needless to say I was very ill...I came across an article that said to cut both ends off an onion put one end on a fork and then place the forked end into an empty jar...placing the jar next to the sick patient at night. It said the onion would be black in the morning from the germs...sure enough it happened just like that...the onion was a mess and I began to feel better.

First of all, they are testing for H1N1 because it is very expensive. They are only testing if the patient is admitted and really sick with it. Influenza A is what these kids have been diagnosed with. Yes it probably is H1N1 but it is actually more mild of a flu than the seasonal flu. As long as you are drinking fluids and controlling the fever than most of the time you're going to be okay. Wash your hands and cover your mouth and yes please don't send your kids to school with fever. If the school doesn't like it, oh well. they can't really do anything if your kid has fever. If you have to, get a doctor's note. My kid was out with fever for 2 days (probably not the flu) and the school didn't give me a problem at all. I didn't even send him to the doctor, just wrote a note. Keep your kid home if they are sick, don't spread it to everyone else

Daily Horoscope for December 18

Aries

You'll be in a better position to get on well with someone who has power or authority over you. This might be your boss, some other authority figure, a friend you really respect or an older relative. Maybe you should chat up your superiors at the office Christmas party... or make more of an effort to understand what makes a certain person tick.
