Well most of the rude people are heavy church users. This is the bible belt.

Most of the friendly people you meet are true Marshal co. people, BUT people from up north has retired and moved in on this county and nearly took it over. And you know how when you cross the river personality's change!!

I have to say that some of the rudest most judgmental people I knew when I lived in Marshall County were my fellow parishioners at my church. I am so glad I now live in a community that will try to lift you up as opposed to stepping on you while your down in a vain attempt to get closer to heaven.

Maybe your going to the wrong church. I do not know of anyone rude at my church. They are some that are stand offess. The ones that have retired from up north on the most part are really nice and generous. I do go to a small church. Maybe thats the difference.

I went to more than a couple of churches in my 45 some odd years that I lived in Marshall County. It isn't just the churches it is the folks at Regions Bank (use to be union planters), The ladies in the PTA, the people at the utility companies, the folks I had to register my car with... Do not get me wrong there are plenty of generous people there too but I would say there is a slightly higher percentage of rude people in that county than other places I have lived. I haven't lived there in over 4 years but I doubt it has changed that much but hopefully it has.

Church lady - Have you ever thought maybe your attitude is not the greatest? You seem to have a problem with everyone. Your definately not sounding like someone who attends church. I have banked at Regions for 10 years ever since I moved here. Those girls at Regions are nice to me. Maybe the problem is you!!!

The responses to my post speaks for themselves and say more for Marshall County than I ever could. I said there is a slightly higher percentage of rude people in Marshall County. Having traveled to 42 states and 12 countries in my life I think I am a pretty good judge of character but if you think it is me that is the problem you are certainly entitled to that opinion.

This is the bible belt.[/QUOTE] Yeah and if your not Church of Christ or Babtist and when it comes to babtizing, you have to be completely submerged in water before you are able to go to heaven. Otherwise you are going straight to you know where. And the Church of Christ believe you can be forgiven how many times???? That just gives them an excuse to do things they shouldn't. You all know what I'm talking about.

You should try Hardin Baptist. It's an amazing church with wonderful people. And they have an awesome youth group for your kids!

I was born and raised here but I lived abroad for several years and in other states for 12 years while serving in the Navy. I moved back here 10 years ago after retiring. I do not regret it a bit. I have found living here to be much better than the other countries and definitely no worse than the other states where I lived. I think the attitude you "get" from people is generally a direct reflection of the attitude you "give" to people.

Listen I'm so sick of people bashing the church of Christ. You people are not Christians if you could judge other people by their religion. I am a proud member of Hardin church of Christ. Jesus forgives so why shouldn't the church? There are few differences in baptist and coc. Music dancing baptism. Big deal. If u don't like it go somewhere else. They are good honest people and would help anyone of they needed it. And for the record they want u to get baptized to be a member so think before you speak.
