Who is responsible for the drug cover up and the Medicare Fraud there? Seems like allot of people are catching blame out there and they are innocent of wrong doings. How does this mystery get solved? How safe are our elderly with the Administration there?

an employee there, kassy wood, is a fat nasty a** bi**h, she slept with my man and his brother, had them pick her up early from work a few weeks ago!, while shes dating some dude. steals pills from the elderly, watched a lady choke on her puke. she is just gross!

They have/had employees stealing patients medicine. Not just nurses aids either. They don't keep up on drug testing their employees. CNAs end up there when they can't go anywhere else. I know for fact two employees who got fired over stealing patients meds but yet no charges filed not the families made aware. I wouldn't put a pet worm in that place

Use to work there too and it was getting pretty bad then (which is why I left, couldnt handle not being able to provide my residents with proper care) and that was a year ago or so....would never put a loved one there, way too many careless nurses and aids.

You know, Britthaven may not be the best facility but that stuff about Kassy is bull. I have seen everyone who picked her up since she started back. either her mom or her brother and arrons friend. i have even taken her home. She couldnt steal pills. CNAs dont have acess to the treatment carts or med pass carts. The only ones who have acess to those carts are the med passers on duty that day. Theres no way anyone else could get into them. now please. you calready posted that she got with your hubby. so apparently its ovbious that you just dont like her and you are saying lies just to try to mess with her. unfortunatley kassy is strong. and so is aaron. i love them both very much. so just stop. its not working. sorry.

I have been there for several years now and yes i have seen the up the downs. As for the aides still ing meds from residents its not possible, they do not have access to the carts and if they did they are locked. Every factility has there good and there bad. I do know that the shift i work does the best they can and care for the residents to the best of our ability.

I used to work there and KMA's are the only people that have access to medicine! Carts are locked up otherwise, there is no way anyone has any way of even touching meds! CNA's don't even pass meds to residents. If anything happens there don't blame the CNA's they are the ones doing all the dirty work! They are the hardest bunch of people, they are the ones that care most about those residents! You have to be a very special person to be able to do that job, it is so much different changing an adult diaper than it is changing an infant. Think about this! leave these people alone!

as an ex-RN--let me say this---cna"s clean shit---they shouldnt have to take it too so lay off!!!they know more about the patient than anyone else.THEY are the ones that give total personal care.IF meds are abused---see the nurse or the administrator.THERE IS WHERE THE PROBLEM LURKS!!as for the supplies and pt/cna ratio-----see owners!!! SAD FACTS--the owners get a meeting---determine potential income---then determine percentage profit they have to make. THAT PROFIT will take priority over all other things---including patients needs.

my 90 year old mom was in lakeway for 4 days . They did not allow her to wash her behind . They wouldn't even bring her a wet washcloth so she could do it herself .They told her to turn her panties inside out . She does not have dementia and she doesn't lie . she was diagnosed as terminal in january and needs morphine to breathe .When I removed her from the nursing home she had not had any of her medications in 12 hours . She said when she asked for them the aides told her to shut up and closed her door . She was not swollen when she entered there but when she left her arms were more than doubled in size and her feet were swollen .My daughter and I witnessed an aide screamed at a woman to shut up and she pushed her into a chair . When she saw us watching her she shut the door . I think the name on the patient's door was Layden . I would imagine if my mother's records were checked they would show that she had baths and medications but they would be falsified .She had a doctor who seemed very nice but I don't believe he ever went into the nursing home or he would have known she was swelling so badly from her morphine being withheld. He won't even prescribe her heart medicine because I removed her from there . My mom doesn't have long to live but she won't die in that abusive place . People get so upset over abusive animal shelters , but they permit atrocities against people. Why isn't this place shut down ? The administrators should be fined and / or jailed . Elder abuse should not be tolerated . I won't tolerate it for my mother . I felt so bad for the people there . Some of them don't have a voice to speak for themselves so I will speak for them . If anyone loves their parents or grandparents they will be demanding an investigation.

I attended to your mom on one of the days she was there. She did NOT get the treatment you described on that day. I would be upset to if my mom was treated as you described, but not all the aides or care givers at this facility are like that. I do my best to care for the residents just like they were my own family. I am sorry for what you went through, but please don't blame the whole facility. The day I was there, your Mom got everything she needed, we answered her call light as promptly as we could, we helped her to use the bathroom, and yes, we did clean her after each use, and she got her meds at the time she was suppose to. I know the 8 hours I was there, she got the best care we could give her, I can't speak for the rest for the time she was there. Please don't blame us all for someone's lack of care. I take pride in what I do and I love my job, I can't speak for everyone else though. I know placing your mom in a nursing home was probably the hardest thing you have ever done, and I know you want the best for her, but you also have to realize your mom wasn't the only resident there. We have approxiamtely 38-40 residents on that wing that 3 aides have to care for, that is 12-14 residents a piece. When you have nearly all of them wanting your help at the same time, it makes it extremely difficult to be there in a timely manner, especially it we are challlenged on that shift, plus there is at least an hour an half where there are only two aides due to the fact that it is meal time. I am not trying to make excuses for whatever happened, I was not there the night you was talking about. I just want you to know that not every shift or aide is like what you described. Again, I am sorry for what you went through.

If you have a legit complaint, the facility is accredited and you can report it to them. They must have this accrediation displayed so you can see and it must be disclosed in your paperwork. Also, there is a long term care ombudsman for the West KY region at the Purchase Area Development Disctrict in Mayfield. I suggest you call them.

The real answer for any of this is to get the old administrator back. I miss her. It was respectable and CLEAN.

Actually, I think the new admin is doing a great job! At least, she shows that she appreciates the workers. I never had a problem with the old admin, but I do like this one better. We all see people from different views, no ones opinion is the same. My personal opinion is that the new admin will do us all alot of good. Its the attitude of some of the workers that is the real problem.
