I am a local law enforcement official who started a business about six months ago called Jackson K9. I am currently a K9 Handler, Supervisor and Trainer. When I first began helping people with their pets, I would simply take their pets, charge a fee, and return them trained. I quickly noticed that this was counterproductive. My entire training theory is based on the bond between the handler and the dog. I believe strongly in positive reinforcement in dog training. I believe there is a time for negative reinforcement, but rarely.

Anyway, I wanted to take time out to tell the citizens of Marshall County and surrounding counties about my service. I still train police dogs, just few per year due to family and work responsibilities, as I am sure you can all identify with!

The way it works is that you contact me and we will set up a session. That session can be at your home, the park, or anywhere you feel comfortable. The session lasts approximately one hour. During the first session, there is a lot of talking! I explain to you how a dog's mind works and a lot of other things about your dog including breed specifics. I will then give you "homework" to do with your family prior to the next session. There is no rush, you just contact me after you are satisfied with your dog's progress. Then the next session begins. We will continue until you are completely satisfied with your dog's new talent.

Some want just obedience, others want home or personal protection. The other thing that is beneficial is I let you use my equipment. This prevents you from going out and spending a lot of money on training equipment you will never need!

Each session costs $50. Here is the best part. If you or your dog do not learn anything during the session or are not completely satisfied, you don't owe me anything. I also offer shirts and equipment and have plenty of references! Everyone who has requested my services has, not only, paid me,but requested that I return!

There are several ways to contact me:

If you believe there is a time for negative reinforcement, then you are not a trainer, just another dog abuser.

Also I have been training dogs for 15 years but knew better from the get go than to take a dog and train it and hand it back!! Come on man!
