Hurts don't it. Such a fine young man making a living and then turns on the dead. For shame.

They paid all the money back. I hope they can recover from this situation. Let's keep praying for them.

I'm thinking about robbing a bank then if I get caught I'll return the money to them 5 years later. I'll only have to serve 60 days. That is awesome! MARSHALL COUNTY CORRUPT AS ALWAYS.

They placed the money in a different account other than a trust. They had no intention to use the money for personal gain. Please explain. How is that corrupt? Let's hope they can recover from this. Keep praying for them.

Was it a church account so they didn't have to pay taxes. You know there are ways to screw the pooch ya know. Fraud is FRAUD no matter how you spell it. And two fraudulent people are worse than one fraudulent person

Yet again, this is how it works everywhere. If you pay restitution, you get a lesser penalty and/or alternative sentencing. He got 60 days in jail, she got 30 days house arrest. He got 200 hours community service, she got 100 hours. He had his license revoked for seven years, and she is on probation for five years. There are punishments other than jail, and it has nothing to do with corruption.

Right?! People throw a fit when well known people or people with money don’t get the maximum sentence, all because they are jealous of them in the first place or just don’t realize that it happens to regular citizens just like them every single day. They can’t post everyone’s final sentencing on the media? Lmao they got in over there head and got a little greedy but quickly returned every bit of it. Some people act like they killed their family or something I swear

That makes no sense. If the employees were in on it, they wouldn't report it or they'd be admitting to a crime themselves. The employees selling the burial policies had no idea that they were fake.

The crooked employee knew exactly what was going on.

This case needs to be retried. Ridiculous with so many hands on the money. What about the state laws governing funeral homes and their employees.

SISTER, Lets just tell it like it is! These people preyed on trusting people for their iwn benefit. They kust didn't think they would get caught. Not that they received the punishment they deserved, getting by with a slap on the wrist. And Marshall County is VERY CORRUPT! The law applys to whoever they choose to use it against, while the REAL criminals, like Mike Ward, who has had numeroys DWIs and was busted for METH, got a slap on the wrist also! Where was his punishment? Who did he pay off? They should all burn in hell!

You really are stupid, arent you? They quickly "returned" it so they wouldn't be sentenced and get the punishment they deserved like the thieves they are! And the money these"Well known" people have, which is mostly gained bytheir crookness and greed, should make them NO less accountable for their actions than anyone else who breaks the law!

Sister - we must all pray and repent you know. Please retract what you say that you won't. All prayers together will save these sorry souls. They may wake up and realize that their crooked crimes and money taken will make a great Christmas gift. Good will always overcome the bad.

They don't owe you Christmas gifts. Perhaps if you worked you could provide for your own gifts instead of being a daily Topix wh*re. God is watching you.

Evie - just back from church and had a prayer for the two funeral home owners. What they did was wrong, so very wrong, and by giving back to the community in a form of Christmas gifts would be a God-send to the many Bentonites who struggle in putting into the collection basket at Christmas. Let us pray.
