No true saved Christian would want to vote yes to having our community wet. I'm sure I'll be criticized but the truth is the truth. You will all face god sooner or later. No one has the strength to stand up for what's right instead let's get rich and let money be all that's important. Well my friend money won't buy ya a ticket to heaven. And the leaders pushing this, well let's just say there not on the path to heaven.

How can you know you've defeated temptation if you've never had to face it? Jesus went out into the desert and faced the devil; he didn't avoid him. The devil offered him all the kingdoms in the world if he would just bow down to him and Jesus said no... and here you are worried about alcohol. If you really think it's wrong then do what Jesus did and just refuse to drink it. That's what I'm doing; but I'm not going to force my beliefs on others because that isn't what Jesus did.

I'm not criticizing you at all for your post. I am Baptist. I have been saved by the grace of God. I do hope our county stays dry. But I would never tell someone they don't have a ticket to heaven. That's between them and our Lord. We all answer for our sins. And only us. I agree with your points that you are making about the money coming into the county. It's not the kind of money I wish Marshall would bring in. But, my friend, all we can do is vote and pray that we do stay dry. To me, the only unforgivable sin is to not believe. God bless you and have a great day!

Jesus faced the Devil because he is the only one that can defeat him. Without him we are all lost. To face the devil alone then we would fail. Never face the devil alone. Let Jesus face the devil with you. When we are saved, I mean truly saved, not just saying a prayer and thinking you are saved, you will walk and do like Jesus. If that is true then no one that walks and try's to be like Jesus would want to vote alcohol into this county. That my friend is when you know you are a true Christian. If you evaluate your ways and see you do less and less of Gods will, then you may need
to really do some soul searching. Deception is one of the Devils most powerful tricks. Many people that believe they are saved with all there heart but never walk like God are being deceived by the devil and will end up in eternal damnation. That is the truth my friend. Sorry it offends some but most lost will get offensive against Gods word. The true Word.

Say what you wanna say. I speak the truth and most prolly don't like the truth just as I hear in your tone. You can tell me all day things as you say just to nustify your thinking. I'm not judging, I'm only telling you the truth. It's your choice what
you do with it. There is only one way, nomatter how many folks want to twist things around just so they can feel better about what they do. That's all I will say about it.

You realize I'm not voting; also, I was using that story as a parable. The Devil is not the same as alcohol. I was trying to convey to you that God knows that you're going to face temptation but the answer is not to avoid it at the cost of forcing everyone else to do as YOU please. Yes, walk with Jesus, but everyone else has the choice to do so. Also, don't ever question the salvation of my soul whether I'm wrong or not; only God can do that without looking like a fool.

I had not decided how I was going to vote but after hearing this hypocrite Iím going to vote yes. To have someone tell me I am not a Christian is more than I can take. If it does get voted in it may well be because of the hypocrite like this one that think he is Godís judge. I think the good Lord might be asking you what gives you the right to judge how he has saved and how he has not.

I know I'm voting yes. If you come across a dirty movie on cable or dish you don't have to buy it. The same as alcohol if you go by a case of beer at the shell you don't have to buy it. It's your choice. Vote yes and help everyone out in my Marshall county. .

Better yet let's ban dirty movies on cable and dish. Let's ban the sell of tobacco. Let's ban McDonald's and all you can eat buffets. Let's ban cars. Let's ban the JC Penny catalog. Lets ban everything cause it's all bad days the church of Christ. Hell lets ban the church of Christ cause its a sin to be Hippocrates. Open your eyes people. Vote yes so we don't push the ban of the other things we like.

Are you saying Jesus was a bad person for making wine out of water! Jesus could have made cool aid out of it if he wanted to. God I just hate it when people call Jesus a bootlegger. Bet he wil not think very much of this guy.

Lol... Please remember "Judge not lest ye be judged" This is a Political issue not Religious one and I hope you don't support the sale of alcohol buy going into resturants that SERVE alcohol, because even if you DON'T drink you support the SALE of ALCOHOL! Apple Bee's, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Logans RoadHouse and all the others have to have 70% Food Sale and 30% comming from Alcohol so if people that didn't believe in drinking didn't GO there they would not meet the criteria and would have to STOP selling the "nasty " alcohol. But it appears there are alot of people who just want it both ways( good places to eat but no alcohol) Sorry it just doesn't work that way. So the next time you go into a place to eat ,but they also sell alcohol ask for forgiveness for contributing to the sell of alcohol so you can "keep your ticket to heaven"

I don't drink but I'm voting yes just so the job market will come back here. anyone who thinks that jobs won't come around are idiots, this is the lakes area people, vacationers come here to fish and hunt and camp at least they used to, but for those who want to have a drink they have to go further away. vacationers don't want to do that thats why places like paducah and metropolis to name a few, take our vacationers away which means less trade for us so before you go shooting down the sale of alcohol think about everyone in the community.
yes there will have to be more police ok theres a job right there and as far as bars go they have already told you no bars that would have to be voted again to get a bar, its only for sale and restaurants and then they have to serve so many people before they can do that. So what will it hurt let our businesses strive instead of die.

Lol, I'm a Catholic and a Christian. Are you saying i am going to hell? FYI there are Christian religions that do not believe drinking alcohol is a sin.
Im not worried

Hendersonville, TN

#21 Jul 9, 2012
I'm not worried about what your god or bible says, just like you're not worried about what Allah or the Koran says.
Am I on a path to hell? If so, isn't that what I deserve? Don't I deserve to be tortured in fire for all eternity? I mean, it is a fair punishment after all, isn't it?
How in the world do the christians in McCracken County survive? How can they possibly raise a family there with all the evil that thrives in their county? They must be strong people there, huh? Maybe they can counsel the christians of Marshall County and teach them how to be strong...? I mean, they even have strip joints and adult book stores over there! It must be a terrible place to raise kids!
Remember, not everyone gives a crap about your religious views, nor do they care about your threats of eternal torture or fear-mongering. Try using statistics and other factual data from other wet counties. That would actually be more beneficial than spouting your religious views and ideas that differ from believer to believer.
