Jack is a good man, you have no idea how lucky we are to have a man of integrity ruling on that bench. And yes, I am a real deputy, and have been for several years in this county and I have had several of my cases in front of the man, some of which didn't go the way I had intended. Nevertheless, I'm proud to have him here.

There was a local lawyer who killed himself a while back. He was arreested several times for domestic violence and DUI. From what I heard he had a problem with prescription drugs. He was brought in front of one of our judges several times. I think it was Telle and let go with a slap on the wrist. If he would have been ordered to go to drug court or some other drug rehab maybe he would be with us to day. I have seen Jack at school events for many years like reading night. Most the time he is alone and it is good he supports his kids. I think he is a good person and the best judge we have. I also think he could do a lot better if he looked into the reason that people are being brought in front of him and use the court to help them instead of letting them go or sending them to jail because of who they are or how the know or don't know.
You are 100% correct. Everyone should do their job, without bias, without discrimination. Treat everyone the same reguardless of who you are, who your kin to. For example, this water district guy that got a bond of 5000 for a 4000 theft is ridiculus when others that steal get much more. I don't know who this water district guy is or who set his bond but this is a very good example of unfairness and failure to do your job well.

It is very common for a suspect's bond to be slightly higher than the actual amount of theft in financial and property crimes. I have served several warrants in my career where as someone had been charged with theft by deception (cold check) in the amount of say $230 and their bond is usually only $350. Bonds usually factor in past criminal history, local residency, type of crime and if criminal history is present, did they show up to court and honor their court dates. Bonds are not a level of punishment.

Telle set the bond for Brad Anderson.

I am sure that Terry Anderson told Telle what to do.

Look and see who's tickets that Telle fixes.

He doesn't fix the ticket for the woman on foot stamps with three kids.

Telle fixes the ticket for the businessman or council woman.

Judge Telle is a fair judge. He does care about the county and his residents. I have personally seen him give the same people (rich or poor) chance after chance. I am glad that he is office. And not some other jacklegs we have had in the past!

Anderson has absolutely nothing over Jack Telle. He is not a county employee and they were not friends when Anderson was Sheriff. And don't believe the "Bailiff" guy above is actually a bailiff, there is no bailiff job title in Marshall County, they are called court security.

Actually wrong Anderson had a indictment warrant handed down by the grand jury (citizens of marshall co) and the amount was already on the warrant. So Telle never dealt with anderson at all. Went straight to grand jury and straight into circuit court....never touched district or Telle

i know nothing about this man outside the courtroom but i have set in front of him when i had taken someone else to court he is a real hard ass the fewer words u say the better for him...it seemed like he really didnt care to hear the case. he would ask me a question and when id go to answer he would interrupt me after a few words to him everything is black and white. but the fact is not everything has a yes or no answer..and it did seem like he just didnt care and that he thought everyone in that courtroom was below him

Telle will never have my vote. Hes harder on speeders than he is on rapists. I was pulled over for supposed speeding, arrested, and put in jail. I hired a lawyer, got the video. video proves me innocent. But yet me spending time in jail already for something such as speeding that i didnt even do. the speeding accusation was 50 in a 35. Every judge ive talked to said it would have been instantly dropped in their court. but no, judge telle gave me more hours of community service than some guy who stole 3 golfs carts. BS.

Since he became judge nobody has ran against him at election time so he must be better. As long as his seat goes unchallenged he probably will have that job as long as he wants it. You never know anybody as well as you think you do. If you know a person that well you don't have to drop names on a site like this. People claim complaints the he is not fair or egotistical are just guilty people who didn't like the sentence they got probably have never seen the inside of a jail and presume only people who get punished feel like they have been treated unfairly when it might be better to presume that they did not have a lawyer. He doesn't sound like he is from up North, if I had to guess I would say Indiana or Florida. But even if he was from up North, who cares? Whether you like his attitude in the courtroom or not he wears a black dress and has a pen in hand until enough people say differently at the ballot box. You all ought to be glad you feel comfortable enough to talk about him behind his back like that, most places in the world people would be scared to death to make comments like the ones I have seen on here. I have never thought much of dudes in dresses whether it be the Pope, triple K, Osama bin laden, or chamber urchins, pretty much cut from the same cloth just different titles and functions, requires the same kind of ambition, drive and ego that people like to refer to as "commitment". Somebody here has to do it, he wanted the job, and the people voted for him. Doesn't matter if people don't know what he does as long as he isn't doing anything illegal. Who cares if sometimes he seems unhappy, maybe he gets sick of having a full time baby-sitting job. Who cares if he seems to be alone, maybe he has to appear to be objective. Who what if he inherited money, its not your money so get over it. I only know one thing about dudes who wear dresses, they are all human and pretend like they aren't, probably because they have to spend every waking moment of their lives trying to please people like you to the point of being either superhuman or OCD.

Zachary Lamb went before Jack Telle a Judge From Benton Kentucky.----- Zachary Lamb was call up before Jack Telle, for a pretrial and was told to state his name,. Zachary Lamb challenge the lawfulness of the proceedings. Jack Telle, repeats himself state your name, Zachary Lamb says well with all do respect I believe it up to the Commonwealth to identify the defendant, and he was there in regard to the charges and he went by the name Zachary Lamb but the person they have there on paper was not him if they though it was him they would need to produce a contract. Jack Telle threaten Zachary with contempt of court for failure to a appear if he did not state his name in the record. Zachary says I have no contract with you. Jack Telle then issues a bench warrant for Zachary Lamb, for contempt of court for failure to appear. And set his bond at $2500.00 and Zachary was standing right before Jack Telle.
There was a least a haft a dozen deputies sheriffs standing around and not one of them made a move to arrest Zachary so we walk out of the court house like nothing was wrong!!

It was actually set at 1000 cash for his fta so that is a inaccurate affidavit. Then was reduced to 250 cash which was posted. The def would not state name and judge jack Telle stated he did not know that was the named def in front of him and called the name Zachary lamb in the hall and in the courtroom. No one responded to that name and a bench warrant was issued.

Wow,if this happened the way the poster says it did then I really like the way Judge Telle handled it. I recall a similar incident in Graves County several years ago a black dude was walking down the Purchase Parkway and he refused to give police his name so they took him to jail for hitch-hiking, though it is a non-jail-able offense. Every week Judge Buck found him in contempt because every week the dude would not give the court his name, so they called him John Doe. They kept him in jail over 200 days and he still wouldn't give his name. People got mad because tax payer's money was wasted for nothing but a battle of egos. Buck did not get re-elected, and he lost a second time too because people don't forget stuff like that. I think Judge Telle came up with a brilliant way of handling the Zack Lamb thing, if it happened. Very smart.
