Read below!!Got this off Paducah Topix. Anyone know if this is true for Benton? What is the owners name?

"Do not give the Paducah Lone Oak Rd, Draffenville or Mayfield Subway's your business, here is why, this is confirmed...the owner of the Lone Oak, Draffenville and Murray Subway's told her employees that they will NOT honor the corporate policy of honoring our veterans with a meal deal. She stated that "we" (Americans) were killing her people and she would not be a part of the corporate directive. She don't like our veterans? Well maybe we need to show her she don't deserve our support either. It took me 3 days to confirm this before posting as I hear a lot of things but only post what I can confirm. I don't know exactly how many she owns but will try to find out. I only know of those two in our area so far. I will never eat at either of those Subway's again. Please join me in showing her WE DO appreciate our veterans and will not support anyone who does not support them. "

According to militarywallet.com , Subway is donating $111,112 to the Wounded Warrior Projects economic empowerment program. If an individual independant franchise owner wants to offer free subs, they can, but it is not a company wide mandate.

Even if this ladies "anti-veteran" comments were true, that's ok. As an Army veteran, I swore an oath to defend the Constitution, which promises life, liberty, and the pursuit of happines. If this lady fufilled the American dream of coming to these shores, gaining citizenship (legally), building a better life for herself and her family, then she has all the rights afforded a citizen under the Constitution. That includes the right to disagree with the government and to speak publicly about that without fear of punishment. I was willing to put my life on the line to defend these rights for every American citizen, regardless of how they felt about me and my brothers and sisters in arms. I defended the rights of Fred Phelps to protest soldier's funerals holding signs that said "Thank God for dead soldiers." That is what makes this the greatest nation on earth. Bless this lady, and I wish her every success.

Subway is donating to the Wounded Warrior Project. Try looking at the Subway website and you'd see that they are helping our Vets!
http://www.subway.com/subwayroot/Freshbuzz/Ve...
Not to mention they have worked hard to raise funds locally for Special Olympics and the American Red Cross and also had a team of walkers for Breast Cancer.
Several of the Subways are offering a $5 meal deal for vets and active duty military along with having contributed to the donation for the Wounded Warriors Project.

WPSD Local 6 continues to look into the Subway-Veteran's Day issue that is centered on two stores in Murray and Draffenville. Reporter Elizabeth Fields recently spoke with Pat Lundon, Vice President of Operations for Subway (Corporate level). Here's what she was told: Subway investigated allegations of alleged statements that the owner of the two Subways made regarding military service personnel. In that investigation Subway found there was no merit, as the owner of the local franchises was not in the store when the alleged statements were made. Lundon went on to say: All Subway stores are locally owned, meaning they are not required to follow any cooperate promotion. However, corporate usually makes a suggestion for owners who may want to offer promotions to their communities. Last year the suggestion was to give away a free 6-inch sub. This year cooperate decided they could make more of a positive difference if they donated to Wounded Warriors Project instead of giving away a sandwich. So that's what corporate suggested. The owner of the Murray and Draffenville Subway stores donated to Wounded Warriors Project, but did not give away sandwiches on Sunday (Veteran's Day). The owner, once she discovered what was being said about her stores began offering free 6-inch sandwiches today (Veteran's Day Observed). Lundon tells us the owner has been a Subway franchisee since 1989 and lived in America since 1978. Lundon says the owner is "disheartened" by comments.--Bill Evans, VP News & Operations.

I work at the one in Murray and when I was ringing a man in uniform and a man that was wearing a vet hat and asked for a discount the owner f. razban was standing behind me and said no discounts because I'm not going to support Americans that killed my people. which I thought was very in appropriate and vets deserve any kind of support

Americans need to boycott the MURRAY store. Remember this comment when you think of Subway in MURRAY.

I think it really sad that it is such an issue about Subway giving free food out when you can visit http://themilitarywallet.com/veterans-day-fre... and see that no other local fast food is offering free food to the vets it doesn't even show that they donated any funds at all to help any Vets of any sort, yet Subway is shown donating to the Wounded Warriors Project.

If you are not happy with service because of an employee that is one thing but because they don't give food away after donating 100 thousand dollars is just crazy!

sounds like some subway employee's want an easy day by persuading veterans to go somewhere else. when subway closes---no job. Veterans and their family and friends support the business that support them.

So next in the news, we're going to get to see people be stupid and say she poisoned them. Seriously, this topic is ridiculous. They weren't giving away free subs this year, period. Just because a mass email, not even FROM Subway, to veterans went out saying they were. They weren't ! Stop being so damn butthurt over not getting a free sandwich. Plenty of other places were giving away free meals, etc. Why harass this poor lady who did nothing wrong ?!

I am a previous employee of the subway in draffenville. This is very true. The owner of both the draffenville and murra stores refuses herself to give the discounts..I do know for a fact that the manager of the draffenville store will give the discounts with out the owner knowing. The owner also does not treat her employees including her managers very good either.why do you think they go thru so many differant employees.she is rude, selfish, inconsiderate, hea rtless and just a plain out b***h!!

So you heard her say that she wasn't going to give out the discounts to Americans that "kill her people?" Doubt it!
