Look at the wet or dry issue strictly from a financial viewpoint. People go where they can have a good dinner with a drink . They want to go to the movies, or some other form of entertainment. It isn't all about the booze. Surroundings mean a lot. Do we have that in MC? We have the lake in summer. But, will we look like a trashy package booze sales the rest of the year? It takes lots of money to get permission to sell, will we have the money to upgrade the whole county to include those who want the good entertainment, eating places, and shopping that makes a county attractive? Calvert City has sales in a couple of eating places. They aren't exactly standing room only. Think about it. People will buy booze, they will drive, we can't stop that. Lets think about all the rest of what could make our county work!!!!!! Will the wet vote do it, I don't think it is the magic answer. When Wal-Mart went super did we get Lowes or Home Depot? Don't trash our county just for the WET issue.

I have not lived in Marshall county for years, just come for the occassional weekends to visit. It is because of your attitudes that I left, so close-minded! It is obvious that what has always worked is no longer working. So yes it is time for a change. Marshall county needs to go wet. I cannot believe how poorly the churches talk of others, the members seem to be holier than though and everyone else is nothing. I have seen many of you out at the bars and liquor stores, so stop acting like you do no wrong! I cant tell you how many times I have visited the area and people have offered to sell me LIQUOR (of course at almost double the liquor store prices).....hmmmmmmm.....inter esting. Pretty sad when liquor (which is legal in most places) is sold like illegal drugs are there. The churches are so against the alcohol but what about all the meth that is made and sold in the area? You are so worried about all the drunk drivers (who are already out there because they just drove from another county to get a drink), but what about all the crack heads out there who are unemployed and living off welfare! Believe it or not they are there and probably even go to your church! Face it, the liquor is going to be around whether you want it or not same goes for the drugs however liquor sales brings revenue and more jobs to the area. You should be using all this power and energy on educating and showing the children how to be responsible adults! And stop backstabbing eachother (especially the "Christians")!!! It sounds absolutly awful to hear adults talking the way you are! Surely you wouldn't want your children to learn how childish you can be, not a very mature manner of dealing with things. This has nothing to do with religion, you are making it a religious issue!!! I suggest everyone do some research and think clearly before you vote.

the people that drink are going to drink no matter what... so why not let the vote pass and put some extra money into the hands of marshall county.. instead of the people that drink going to paducah and sending that extra money out of town?? i mean how does that not make sense? your not going to stop anyone from drinking leaving it dry all you are doing is taking money out of the hands of marshall county way to go..

Im just telling you the gospel. There only 2 ways. Either be lost or be saved and if you are saved then I wouldn't think God wouldn't want you to drink alcohol for a good time. As for scripture you can find many passages in the bible that are against alcohol. I get so tired of some people and some pastors today not telling or knowing the true gospel. People twist it to how they want to live. You get offended by what I say cause its the truth and unsaved people can't face the truth about the gospel and how they really live there lives. It predicts this in the bible.
Judge not lest thee be judged..... See you in hell, hypocrite. I got a job stoking the fire. Your hell will be choking on your words. Hateful people here. I'm moving back to America.....where I can choose for myself to drink or not. Water into wine!

I myself will vote yes. People should be more worried about drugs and teenage pregnancy. Take off your blinders and grow up. Put all this energy into something else, like picking up your trash when it blows out on dump day¡!!!!!¡

Two months ago I would have voted dry but I am so sick of the dry folks and there "I'm better than you" attitude. I don't even drink but heck the dry side has turned me to voting wet. At least the wet side will give voters credit for having a brain.

With that kind of attitude... where do you think you will go? You know Heaven doesn't exist, so why even make a comment like that.

No God either, or after life and I question Jesus... doubt he existed either and if he did it was not as described in the bible... which is a hoax at best. It's all a sham... they are just playing with your mind.

But, other than this, is the package store vote going to pass?

you know, i spent almost 200.00 at southside paducah last weekend. 7.00 of it was for a sixpack of beer. The rest, on groceries and hardware all of which could have been bought at Food Giant and Shop-o-rama, except for the beer. But why make two trips in two different directions. So Southsiding i went. It's not just the taxes on alcohol MC is losing...it's all the other money spent to.
