I heard the hit but it was dark and I couldn't see! All I know is that someone was riding without there lights on going really fast then BAM! Me and my friends knew but wasn't sure until the ambulances and cops came out there. I just hope they are ok.

From what I heard the driver of the boat was a sherrif from another county. One person was injured and the other boaters left her on the rocks and ran because of their careers. Not like they are not going to be found. I'd sure be p'd if some donkey thought he was untouchable and seriously injured me and then ran like a coward instead of making sure that I was ok. I'd sing like a bird.

HMM they had an article in the paper about the accident. but said they can't disclose the names of those injured because of the HIPPA laws. Don't they usually put peoples names in the paper if they get in a wreck? Sounds like a scandal involving some drunken cops...

The easiest way to clear it up would be to mail a freedom of information request to DNR in Springfiled for a copy of the boating accident report. You get the first 50 pages free now. The nmaes will be there - but maybe not their address or date of birth or social security number. Then post what u find out.

May just be a rumor but i heard it was a bunch of teenagers that had the accident, but you know how kids talk so don't take my word for it. That's a reason they wouldn't put names in the paper too.

I talked to a Park Ranger named Robert this morning, he told me he could not give me any info because this was a criminal inv. He also told me know one died in the acc., but was at the scene and was asked to leave because they need to have some closer and bring the body up and leave the scene...... I don't know about you folks, but I feel like know one is being honest......Why would you be conducting a criminal investigation if know one died????????

I was on the scene also,if i remember correctly, there were 3 people involved,a female was airlifted, one fatality, and a gentleman by the name of ******(hope i spelled this correctly)
was missing in action sat. evening ( I believe he was the driver). I would also like to add that the ranger brought a couple to the scene of the accident...posssibly 4 identification purposes or perhaps they had vital info...wonder if they rolled on their buddy!I wonder...perhaps we r covering up 4 someone...lol!

They were off duty officers from out of the area. Only one serious injury and that was "the body". They don't want you people seeing the hurt. Quit rubber necking people, have some damn respect. Oh and HIPPA does not allow the release of names or conditions from the ambulance crews and hospitals. And my guess is it's a criminal investigation over alcohol/dui. Bodily harm was caused in an accident. Theres bond to be an investigation wether on roads or water. If it was off duty cops, sure it'll be swept under the rug.

True, releasing their medical condition is a violation of HIPPA but releasing their names because of an accident/criminal investigation isn't. Everybody else involved in a crash has their name released. This smells of cover up.

Something stinks! lol Well if you have a car accident the names are printed and even the people who are injured....OR who have been aressted for DUI! Wait!!!!!....is the driver still missing in action...When will the names be released or will they just get a slap on the hands and send them on their way....and others don't get a chance! Others drink and drive and kill or injure people....I think we need to have more of our fine rangers on the water to stop some of the stupid people...I have seen to much drinking going on in party cove. go and check it out!

You go Spot! You speak words of wisdom! You can't handle the truth! Over and Out!!!!! If the truth comes out and people are punished maybe people will think before they boat and drink...When I am on the lake I am with my family I want to go home in one piece. I pay to boat not to get hurt by stupid people

It was a cop from Madison County. I heard he fled the scene. I hope they throw the book at this fool. The entire dam has lights across the whole thing. They are the only lights on the southern end of the lake. How you ram a boat into it is beyond me - Drunk or Not. I get borded about every other weekend out there because of A-holes like this. Where were the super trooper conservation officers who constantly sit by the boat beach with their lights off(very illigal). This jack wagon should never be allowed to operate a boat again, and if you were one of the people he left bleeding on the rocks while he ran like a little coward I would not protect him. WHAT A HERO!!!!!!!!!!
