Did anyone go to stark grand opening? The place wasn't even close to being done. No floors, unpainted walls, no bathrooms, tools everywhere, dirt and dust everywhere u look, I could go on and on. Either they r horrible business people having a opening and not having place ready to show people at it's best or they have already ran out of money quicker than everyone had thought. I would have been embarrassed showing that place to potential members. That place is a joke and I think everyone that went would agree unless your a friend or family member. Oh and one of best parts is my dad and I lost about 5 pounds cause it was so hot in there we almost got dehydrated. NO AIR HOOKED UP.

My cousin went and said same thing. Said place was a wreck. She said almost everyone that worked there looked either out of shape or scary. Not the most impressive staff. she went by today and only 1 car working out and two fat guys eating mcdonalds right in from of building while they had a bunch of carpet rolled out the front door. What a great image for new gym. Ha ha

We went too and it was so hotin there and dirty. Very disgusting and the place wasn't even close to being done. My boy looked at baskeballcourt and wow its no bigger than his bedroom and oh wasn't done either. They had nice tanning beds and treadmills. Other than that benton fitness center is better. The walking track is like walking around our building its like 20 laps for a mile. All it is is carpet and u walk around like u can do at any gym. Workers were standing around and looked totally embarassed. Great first impression stark really shows how much u care what your place looks like. I will stick with benton fitness center

I agree over rated and staff and owners need to bust it in the gym so they can look in shape. If u don't stay in shape don't try to show others how

I went Saturday to their grand opening. I think it's got lots of potential. I have been a member at BFC for many years (when it was Super Circuit too) and the new gym is going to be awesome. I talked to one of their PT's and he was not out of shape by any means.

Chad, Big Jay, Tammy, lil, Spspsp - 5 posters, 2 locations, posted at the same time. Not suspicious at all.

There are plenty of people all over Facebook that seem to like it, so you (yes, the one person writing all of the same posts) can take your business elsewhere and I believe Stark's will be fine.

Actually ive seen a really great flow of people through there. the equipment is great especially for the weightlifters. there is still work being done but the place is clean and the work goin on does not interfere with your ability to work out. Im impressed, and there is still more to come.

I went to opening and its had good and bad. Their is potential in the place but the grand opening was really horrible. If you have a opening the place should be perfect. I dont lift in this area at all but have lifted many places around the US. It looks nice, think it wont make it in little town of Benton, but good luck. I know couple of their contractors and they fired one set already so I know there is some bad blood their with the workers. Wish it luck but from what I hear they have spent all the money they had inherited and are tapped out. Their is a reason why the smart banks wouldnt loan them the money. NO BUSINESS SENSE

0 truth to anything you said. They don't hire or fire contractors as that is managed by the owners of the building (hence "build to suit"). Not sure what your definition of inheritance is, but this was all done with business loans, no inheritance. They have hundreds of members already and classes have already started. I look forward to seeing it!

Do you have any more made up misinformation you'd like to share, or can we move on to the next troll?

Overrated staff? How so?

They've got one trainer there who has his CSCS. For those of you who don't know what a CSCS is, here is a bit of background: http://www.nsca-cc.org/cscs/about.html

I would say most of their staff are qualified in what they do.

That place has been packed since Saturday, from open to close.

The business is open now, the rumors and speculation can stop. Each person can go check the new fitness center out and if they like it join. If you are not pleased with what you see then you are free to move on, that is a benefit of living in America. I am unsure why any of the information above is pertinent. Does it matter where the money came from, really? Does it matter if they have business sense, consultants are available to help with business ventures and get them on the right track so they can manage on their own if needed. I built the home I live in. I was given a completion date. Unfortunately things didn't all arrive as planned and one thing held up another, but eventually we got there. If you have built or re-constructed before you know this is often the case. I can tell you that I know the classes have been full and my friends and I have been very pleased. Also, I do know that the instructors are certified (just like at my old gym, Gold's) and they are physically fit. Strong is the new skinny, not everyone is going to look anorexic. The botton line is this: If you don't like the track, if you are unhappy with the basketball court, it you don't like the place then go where you are happy but why attempt to run the place into the ground? Do you have some personal vedetta or something to personally gain? Benton Fitness, prior to that Super Circuit (and prior to the Storey's were the Taft's) oh yeah, I have been a member there for a long time. I have been at Gold's for a couple years just because it better met my needs. Now Starks is open and the facility and services are comprable to Gold's and it is convenietly located so I am now a member there. Things change, people change..... accept the change and move on. Support the gym of your choice, it is your right.

You honestly think people believe you? Where did you "hear" they spent all of their money? Because I know for a fact that isn't true. And the part about firing someone...not true either douchebag.

Get a life, people! I've worked out there the last 2 days--the place was packed and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. As far as the place being a mess on Saturday, maybe the owners did jump the gun on holding the grand opening, but sometimes work doesn't get done as quickly as planned. I'm sure the intention was to have it finished and it was probably too late to change the date. I happen to know that the owners and employees have worked tirelessly for the past few weeks, and they've accomplished much in a small amount of time. It's pretty obvious that everything will be finished shortly, and there's nothing stopping anyone from getting a great workout. I think the gym will speak for itself in the long run. All of the haters, please stay at BFC and get over yourselves!

I would say that stark has more to offer than benton fitness center but my buddies and I are from Benton and we go to American Fitness in Christopher. That place is awesome and cheaper than any gym around. We pay like $20 a month. They have everything stark has except tanning. We did ask the owners if they would get tanning for our girlfriends but he said they never would cause they are their to promote good health and tanning is horrible for your health. We thought that was a good reason. Also heard they are opening another building behind theirs with batting cage, basketball, crossfit and couple other things. If you havent seen it check it out cause its awesome and very clean with all the best equipment, trainers, and instructors. We love A.F.

So what I'm getting by this convo is that the owners of the Benton Fitness Center & the owners of American Fitness WON'T be joining Stark's gym. Pretty sad when you have to go to topix to try to get your gym some publicity, seriously. What a bunch of morons! I don't see the Starks slamming competition on topix, for God's sake. They'll definitely have my business.
