The state may or may not take over the district to fix its financial problems. I agree for the most part, but the district has capable and caring staff at the classroom level. To terminate them all would be counter productive. The problem is not all of the teachers, but the need to have a balanced budget that would allow them access to the tools they so desperately need to be successful.I was a volunteer with the district upon returning to the area after 32 years.I found a lot of caring people working for the district and they are very concerned with the plight of its students. If tapped, they have numerous creative ideas to help improve a bad situation and how to make the learning experience in Benton Harbor a pleasant one.
