STOP THE MADNESS wrote:
To the mother of contestant #1 you started all this mess and do not realize the impact this has on your OWN daughter. She had the most time on the stage and was beautiful, but you took that away from her with you nasty comments. If you had a problem with the contest you should have went to the chairman about your complaints like an ADULT!!! I was there and you was not on your best behavior even then. You seat in the wrong seat and refused to get up! How rude. The pageant was beautiful as usual, with some slight delay, but for the most of it everyone enjoyed it! The girl step on your daughter's dress that was so bad, it didn't take away from her, accidents do happen. Miss America fall on her behind and she got up, gain her composure and continue on. I think your daughter should run for Miss Southwest Michigan, I really believe she would win. But will all do respect you need to stop responding before anymore embrassment comes to YOUR daughter. Plus you have been complaining since 2007 but yet you allowed your daughter to run. If you had problems then, why let her run this year, that's the sad part. Or don't you feel any shame about the remarks you have made? Probably not but this are people lives and it has nothing to do with the pageant. Do you really want the doors of your closet open? Or your family and that goes for everyone else that has commented so nasty about someone's past. We all have skeltons, don't forget because God has a way of revealing them. Be careful about putting your mouth on someone else, you reap what you sow in the end. You complain about money, but do you realize by contining to comment on this allows the owner of this site to make millions. These comments will be history, your children, children children will be able to read this long after you are gone. Is that what you really want, but i guess it's to late for that. I wish you and your daughter the best of luck and hope you and all the others have learned a vaulable lesson. It is what you answer to and how you respond and this surely is not the way. Peace my good people of the Community of Benton Harbor- Love, Peace and Happiness!
The only comment that I know her mother made was on the Herald Palladium. Did she have another daughter who ran before in 2007 who didn't win? I didn't see anthing on the hearald palladium bad that she wrote. Tell me the secret person. It look like the first post started this to me.

Well if the truth is to be told most of the contestants for the Mr. Benton Harbor are Gay. You know a gay person if they hang around other gay's. There's no way if I am a straight guy that i will hang around anyone that's come out of the closet and admitted that I was Gay. i just wouldn't do that. The Miss Benton Harbor has had girls that were Bisexual and this just should not be.

Yes,there some gay boys in this years contest but it was less gay boys than straight boys. We do have open minds and can hang around gay people without being gay or turning gay. Its not like they are touching and feeling on us. Maybe you need to get a open mind. It dont matter if your gay, bi, straight being Mr. Benton Harbor all you have to be is a natural born male, live in Benton Harbor, in high school or just graduate, and 17 - 21 years old.

I want everyone to know I spoke to Mr. T myself, I DID NOT say those bad things about his family. I do have my own opinion. "I certanly don't regret my experiences because without them, I couldn't imagine who or where I would be today. Life is an amazing gift to those who have overcome great obstacles, and attitude is everything!' People always think there has got to be a darkside to everyone, a closet with skeletons, demons under the bed. Skeletons in the closet is something your trying to hide from people, so Im very sorry to tell you,"I have known." Everything that happened with my family was made known to the entire Community and will not bring me or my family to shame. We think all kinds of things about one another. We feel compelled to make up fears and false assumptions about people. Whoever, told Mr. T these terrible things about me you are so very wrong. This will be on the only comment for me to you. Whatever I do my daughter will never be ashamed of me or hold her head down and never be brought to shame. So, if you believe it was me all I can is so be it! Me and my daughter will never be shame. "God Bless You" and I wish everyone the best. Miss BH 2010 I wish you the best of Luck in the Blossomtime Pageant.

Stop pointing fingers and making rude comments of which no one really knows anything about except the parties which are involved. People have been making remarks as to what Mr. Tripplett do and don't do for these young women, students, his family, and the community of which he resides. My question to you is, even if these accusations are true, who are you to judge? Everybody make mistakes, no one is perfect. If you were then your name should be Jesus, the son of God. Jealousy is an ugly thing and everyone who has made any unbecoming remarks about the young women who has been crowned Miss Benton Harbor and her court both past and present, Mr. Tripplett and his family, and the community he serves has just shown their true colors as to who they really are. I hope you realize that for every 1 negative comment toward Mr. Tripplett/his family and the Miss Benton Harbor Pageant there are six (6) positive ones that follows, so you do the math! I stand firmly behind God and I trust His words! If you have any sense of integrity, you will let Miss Benton Harbor 2010 and her lovely court of honor enjoy their year as they too are representation of our beautiful community and you will support them wholeheartedly. At some point we must succumb to the peace that comes in the midst of the storm. All these young women want to do is put to use the excellent minds God has blessed them with!

I am here to say that Mr. Tripplet is one of sweetest person's that anyone could ever imagine knowing. I have always looked up to him no matter what I heard or may have even seen for myself. I have not allowed the rumors to cause me to loose my respect for Mr. Tripplet. I have had some concerns about the past Miss Benton Harbor pageants and not only Miss Benton Harbor pageants but also the Pom Poms, the cheerleaders, the basketball team. I have seen such a big change in all of these extra curricular activities ( there doesn't seem to be a standard for any of these anymore). I was raised in Benton Harbor and will always call it my home, but I could not allow myself to stay around a city that would not move forward and it's not pushing for greater things. I return home and I see the youth and it makes me want to return back to my home to help these young people out. It hurts my heart to see these young people not knowing or becoming confused with life. I believe that Mr. Tripplet has taught alot of the young ladies what it means to be a young lady. He requires much from his participants. I have had questions based on some of the girls backgrounds and how they were able to represent the city with dignity knowing that they were confused with their sexuality. I do believe from reading some of these articles that the Mr. Benton Harbor has also become so far out of hand. We as a community should not allow our young people to think that it's okay to be born a female or male and then in the middle of your life decide that you should have been the opposite. Our community is being torn down by this and it's sad. I believe that God never makes mistakes and we are not powerful enough to make changes based on our emotions. I lift up Mr. Tripplet and I pray that he can continue to make a difference in these young girls lives. I lift the city of Benton Harbor up and pray for the parents our the children and ask God to cover them with his arms of protection from all harm and danger.

I know I am late but this goes to show how ignorant and dumb some of the people are in this area. The degrading comments about the Miss Benton Harbor court and the issues coming up about one's sexuality is not kosher at all. People on here throwing rocks but hiding their hands, probably don't even have the facts to back up what they are saying. People putting up fake names then coming on and pretending it wasn't them. And I know that the citizens of Every city, village, township, hamlet etc., in Berrien County and America is looking at this blog and shaking there heads. This is ridiculous and sad, can't even get high MEAP scores but we can jump online and attack each other. Man you all are tore up and you are our feature leaders and some are maybe parents of some of these feature leaders this is sad. Why don't you all put yourself in each other shoes and see how you feel if your name was put on a blog for the entire world to see and have your past brought up. And as far as the Mr. Benton Harbor contest goes leave those boys alone!!!!! To each his own. Don't ask don't tell. Don't get mad because you can't get at them or one of them blocked your profile on one of the social networking websites. Now to all you that are going after Mr. Tripplett let me tell you something you may not like what he is doing but he is doing something positive for this community and he is trying to help young ladies develop self esteem. Yes!!!! we know that there are some things that go on behind the scenes but were you there to see it happen? If you saw it happen did you confront Mr. Tripplett? So leave him alone and get on with your life. I was reading this garbage and got sick to my stomach. To the 2010 court of Mr. and Miss Benton Harbor you guys are awesome keep a positive attitude towards everybody, don't do anything negative to hamper your image. "A good name is better than all the gold in the world." That's the Bible. Benton Harbor we need to get better instead of blasting and tearing each other down on blogs and on the street. God Bless.

Everyone has alot of negative things to say about Mr. Tripplett and yet none you realize how hard he works, the sacrifices he makes. Has he made some mistakes, yes, but his love for the children of Benton Harbor is priceless. He maintains relationships with those girls years after cheerleading and the pageants are over. They respect him and they love him for the role he has played in their lives.

Most of you talking dont even bother to support the young women in Benton Harbor who are trying to do something positive with their lives, so don't throw stones at someone who does. So what if he yells at the girls, you probably do more than that! If you had the opportunity to do his job, you would not last, because just like you are attacking him, someone would find a reason to attack you, no matter how good your intentions maybe. You cant please everybody, and neither can he.

Think about it from this point of view, IF and I do mean IF, Tripplett is doing or has done something wrong, know that he has a higher power to answer to just like the rest of us.

I know the the last four queens and I have to say that they are dynamic young women, and were deserving of the title. If you have issues because your child did not place, then maybe you should have started grooming your child from a little girl on how to be a lady, the importance of community service, education, proper grammar, morals, work ethic and the ability to perservere, instead of waiting until the pageant and giving her a crash course and then be angry because the judges did not see a ginuine queen!!!!! As for girls who may have been deserving, I am sure their where girls who were deserving, but their can only be one queen and maybe it was just not her turn to shine.

The correct queen was crowned. I didn't know her or anyone else in that pageant but now that I've been around Joy I have no doubt why she represents Benton Harbor. ALL of the contestants were wonderful but the judges "judged" and there decision was perfect.

All of you are childish and immature. I pray that God has mercy on you at Judgement Day. For all you "GROWN" folks on here you should feel really bad. Wheather you like or dislike someone be man or woman enough to tell that person yourself and not on the internet. Regardless of how you feel about Mr. Tripplet he is blessed and God is with him (not to take up for him). But the truth is the truth, He can only do what You complainers allow Him to do, so if You don't like Him do something about it. Other wise let it go.

I feel like some of you guys are waisting your time complaining about "this and that." Whoever won is whoever won!!!!!! There is nothing you or anyone else can do about it. Let it go..be happy for the girl who did make it to the final 5 and won! I kno Mr. Tripplet very well and know somewhat how he works and cheating doesn't seem to be it. AMClabin is right..GET OVER IT!! Find something else better to do. How someone seems to be is not all what the judges look at and i know that for a fact. They look at how you present yourself, confidence, how you answer your final question, everything. The judges look at everything!!! The past is the past, the future is the future and i think that that is what we all need to focus more on. All i have to say is the future Miss Benton Harbor 2012 deserves her title and should be able to treasure it without all of these iggnorant comments.

This is without a doubt one of the most ignorant, closed minded and ghetto sites I have ever had the misfortune to visit. You ghetto idiots are so concerned about how much money a contestant gets, his or her sexuality, stepping on a dress, the lifestyle of the host and the size of certain ladies on the pageant board that you lose focus on what is really important..The Kids..you antiquated, small-minded bigots.Benton Harbor is the laughing-stock of SW michigan because of parents like you. A 98% black city with double digit unemployment, a city commission that is as stupid as you all are, low educational scores for at least the past 20yrs, generations of black families on state aid and you mindless cretins are worried about a damn beauty contest. You let your kids run the streets after curfew, your dumb-asses think the public schools are babysitters, you never teach your kids boundaries (like respecting other people's yards), you blame the white man for everyone of your problems and here you sit in your own collective ignorance.
