"The Daily Show" host Jon Stewart pointed out inconsistencies in alternating "Hannity Show" shots of a recent conservative rally on the steps of the Capitol Building. This has led to accusations of Fox News splicing video footage shot at a larger Glenn Beck rally held in Washington two months ago with video shot at last week's rally, thus falsifying footage to make the more recent protest appear bigger than it was. The controversy stems from an anti-health-care reform rally held last Thursday on the steps of the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., which Rep. Michelle Bachmann termed the "Super Bowl of Freedom." The Washington Post estimated that the rally drew roughly 10,000 attendees, but Fox News commentator Sean Hannity claimed on his show that the event drew 20,000 people, while Bachmann, appearing as a guest on Hannity's show, estimated that number to be much higher, up to 45,000. In the process of lauding the turnout "in the middle of the day on a Thursday," Hannity showed footage of scores of people assembled in protest, presumably at last week's rally. But "The Daily Show" pointed out an oddity in the footage during their broadcast last night: The condition of the sky and the coloring of the leaves lacked consistency in some of the shots, leading Stewart to insinuate that Hannity incorporated footage from coverage of Beck's "9/12" rally into his show's segment on Bachmann's event, in order to bolster the perception of its turnout. Stewart and "The Daily Show" have been quite critical of Fox News in the past, often using its vast archive of past video clips to lampoon the cable news channel's famous "Fair and Balanced" claims, with Fox News hosts like Bill O'Reilly occasionally allocating airtime to fighting back, claiming that "The Daily Show" often takes what he and his colleagues at Fox News say out of context to make them appear hypocritical and to paint their news coverage as partisan. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/20091111/ts_yne...

"leading Stewart to insinuate"???? Are you suggesting that there is even the possibility that Hannity's footage is legitimate? Stewart didn't insinuate. He pointed out that it was clearly"faked". Hannity and FOX were caught trying to manupilate the people to think that their political point of view is more popular that it is.

The leaves on the trees were green, just as they were for Beck's "12th'r thing", while during the time of Bachman's BS party, they were dead, brown and such. Hannity lies everyday, same with Beck. When is ol' Sean going to live up to his challenge, his agreement to be waterboarded? It's been what 5 months and the POS still hasn't honored that challenge!

I'm not suggesting anything. I just copied, pasted and stuck a link on it. Take it up with the writer of the article.

Jon Stewart's clip is hilarious. In the wee hours I saw Rupert Murdoch-- the Kangarupe-- trying to squirm out of his latest gaffe by trotting a wimpy grunt out to apologize for him, and then Roger Ailes with all those jowls and chins and dangling mug blubber was in Westchester accepting a Scout's award and shaking his turkey gobbler's chin for the homophobic BS BSA. Best joke of the night was Conan O'Brien's quip that Lou Dobbs "was being replaced by a guy named Juan who'll work for $5 an hour." LOL! Verrrry funny.

Anyone can make an innocent, inadvertent mistake. No unbiased talking head would intentionally try to shape the news. Right?
UPDATE: Hannity said, "Although it pains me to say this, Jon Stewart, Comedy Central, he was right... It was an inadvertent mistake but a mistake nonetheless. Like my inadvertent and inappropriate remark calling Congresswoman Bachman a 'Cougar'. But you know, she really is a MILF.”

Come on. you wouldn't believe it if it was MSNBC, why believe Fox? every show the put on is highly produced, carefully edited. A mistake like that doesn't happen. That was 100% intentional and to claim otherwise is fascinatingly naive.

Bachman a "milf", heh, heh, heh, thats sick, thats like calling Ann Colter a milf, gross! Bachman is a nutty witch though!

Twist it if you can but it is you and all the other Bushites who though sending troops to be Pop-Up targets was a good idea, the "heh, heh, heh" is Bush's forever. You can't counter that argument so you continuously try to slander me by saying I want harm to our troops when that is opposite from what I have been trying to undo for 8 years since you and the rest of the Repuglicans put the nutbush in charge, then agreed to everything he wanted, including making "Pop-Up" targets out of US servicemembers. Their blood is on your hands as much as it is on Bush's, I tried to prevent it! You just went along and cheerleaded!

Why were you so gleeful at sending young people into an Urban Guerilla warfare environment? What kind of a sick mind do you have that would push for putting kids in a situation where they don't know who the enemy is, where they are or when they might pop out and shoot or blow them up. What drives that kind of sickness that would want kids to constantly be under duress and danger from insurgents? You are one sick person!

Unlike you, I take no glee in the deaths of "heh heh heh pop-up targets" to glorify the murderous IEDs and sniper attacks of terrorists just because I think the actions in Iraq and Afghanistan were not instigated by my political party. I believe in the concept of "total war", and not auxiliary police forces.

You just went along and cheerleaded! You tried to prevent it??? Are you that important? Did you assail congress to keep them from voting for the Iraq War Resolution? I support the troops and do not glorify in their deaths, nor glorify the efforts of terrorists killing them...as you do..because you disagreed with the actions of congress.

Anyone with any experience in Urban Guerilla Warfare knew what was coming and I sent a lot of e-mails saying just that. Right, I am not important and neither are you but I tried you just went along, cheerleading. I never wanted one soldier sent into Iraq, you were promoting the war. The goal of riding Afghanistan was accomplished with less than 300 CIA/Delta Force Operatives and Afghani Warlords and the OBL followers and probably him would have been killed at Tora Bora but your boy let them go when the CIA/Delta guys wanted to call in the "total warfare" concept of the Mother of all Bombs and end them. But people like you were glad they were allowed to escape because you wanted the Iraqi invasion, you didn't care one iota about the troops, I did! You, people like you and Bush are the ones that made "Pop-Up" targets out of our troops, you did it!

you didn't care one iota about the troops, I did! You, people like you and Bush are the ones that made "Pop-Up" targets out of our troops, you did it! You are the epitome of ignorance! I will wager you any amount that you cannot find one post where I promoted going to either Iraq or Afghanistan. You set the amount. Yet, I can produce countless posts by you under various coates, and dog posts where you mock the US armed forces, demean and disparage them, as you glorify the inflicted casualties with your mocking "heh heh heh pop-up target" depiction. "We can't win....all is lost"--Franks let bin Laden go. Just as Clinton did in the dozen or so chances he had but was afraid to act. Total war is killing the enemy, everyone who knows about them, or supports them in any way.
