LOL I am not supporting the laws. I simply disputed the claim that Virginia tourism is suffering. Not the case.
Illegal radar detectors are a joke as most departments use VASCAR or better technology.
And the speed limits on 95, 64, and 81 have been raised to 65 or 70 in most of the state. 55-60 is the normal speed limit in urban areas. Exceeding 80 is reckless driving in Virginia. Deal with it.
About the same as everywhere on the East coast. I just drove to Florida and that was the case. Head North to NYC and watch the speed limits drop to 55-65.
Feel free to avoid the state and waste gas driving around it. That is your right.
It won't cost me any more gas driving around it.

I don't know of any other state that has the 'Anything over 80 mph is reckless driving' rule.

With West Virginia, 20 mph or more OVER the speed limit is reckless driving. That reasonable.

If the speed limit is 70 mph in Virginia and you are doing 80 mph it is reckless driving?

Anyone with any sense realized how stupid that is.

It does affect tourism some at least, because I avoid Virginia and I know others that do so as well.

lols....if you say so

I won't say anything about the good people of Virginia, my gripe is not with them.

It is with the backwards speeding laws in the state.

Although they could stand up to the politicians in their state and demand changed, but I guess that is asking far too much in this day and time.

I guess it is easier to sit back and watch the injustice.

Virginia is behind most other states in progress and has some ignorant laws!
Then most unmarked cars hide in bushes.
