I'm curious about something, perhaps someone out there knows the answer. Once Chicago knocks down all these houses that they have bought up, doesn't Bensenville still own the streets and parkways that will criss-cross the area? Wouldn't that put a stop to runway construction?

No more delays. No more obstructionism.

Drive through Bensenville sometime. There is absolutely nothing worth standing in the way of an efficient, robust O'Hare. If anything, the whole village should be condemned to ensure there's land to expand for the next 500 years.

Joseph Karaganis has gotten very wealthy charging legal fees to the anti O'Hare munchkins. Time for Joe to find a new gravy train.

Bensenville is a dump. The proposed area's crime rate is at least as detrimental to society than the chemicals. Level the whole town!

So who is going to take off and land on these new runways? By the time Daley's "bridge to nowhere" is built United and American will have joined Eastern, TWA et al. They could change O'Hare to "SouthWest International Airport" They will be the only one flying in 2014.

You must be one of Chicago's attorney's. Sounds like you are jealous of Joe's legal abilities. Going to lose another one for Richie pal?

The damn project is over budget and delayed because of the legal road blocks presented by the Village of Bensonville! If the remaining 30 homeonwers are in danger of being poisened, wouldn't it make sense for them to MOVE!!! Take the Cities money and GO!! You're getting a premium price for your Sh1t box, end of the run way home. This is the biggest gift any of these people have ever seen! Take it and run!

You've lost, take the money and buy a clue!

Bensenville and EGV need to stop trying to block the expansion based on such bogus reasoning. Chicago owns the land, let them build the darn runways already!!

Village officials fear that the runway may never be completed and leave behind a "damaged Bensenville" -- the town where the freight trains dictate traffic flow? Please, let's get real.

Have the village officials who think they can stop this (and who are probably in on the defense deal with that lawyer) reassigned and make plans for how you are going to make the most out of living next to O'Hare.

If Daley can do it to Northerly Island he can certainly do it to Bensenville..in his sleep.

Whaddya expect? Look at the track record of this judge. Corrupt and rotten to the core.

Notes on election fraud in DuPage County, Illinois
This comes from Jean Kaczmarek, who wrote "The Fate of Tammy Duckworth," a first-rate
piece about the theft of the 2006 congressional election in DuPage County, Illinois. The essay appears in Loser Take All.

DuPage County is, election-wise, among the most corrupt locales in the United States.(In the 1960 presidential race, the GOP machine there actually stole more votes for Richard Nixon than Mayor Daley stole for JFK next door in Cook County--something that Jean mentions in her essay, but that the Repubs either don't know, or don't want anybody else to know.) The article below sheds just a bit of light on how the GOP has rigged elections there.

Judge leaves case after ties revealed
By Jake Griffin | Daily Herald Staff
Contact writer

The judge handling the appeal of a Democratic state Senate candidate thrown off the ballot by the DuPage Election Commission has recused himself after questions surfaced about his financial ties to the commission's lawyer.

Election commission attorney Pat Bond donated $6,500 to DuPage Circuit Judge Ken Popejoy's campaign between June 2003 and September 2004. Bond also once served as Popejoy's campaign chairman, according to campaign disclosure documents from the Illinois Board of Elections.

Calls by the Daily Herald to Popejoy and Bond on Friday were not returned, but Monday Popejoy stepped away from the case. He would not discuss his reasons, citing through his secretary judicial canons and ethics that forbid judges from discussing pending cases.

If this Judge rules against Chicago, Bensenville and Elk Grove Village had best show that when they knock down a building they do it differently from the standard procedure of spraying the demo and debris pile with water which is what they are saying Chicago is going to do and it is an health hazard.

Spoken like a true Chicago mothball. Pave over the south or west side. Send the gangbangers to the loop with the gunless liberals. Then everybody will be happy.

Does Bensenville require environmental studies for any other demolitions? How ridiculous. Bensenville needs to give it up and take one for the team. The entire metro area benefits from a functional airport, including Bensenville.

Joe hasn't won a legal victory yet!

Their obvious strategy is to delay, delay and delay. Chicago should countersue the towns to recoup the increased costs due to the slowdowns!

Funny how conservatives complain about the legal system when it works against their cause, but they'll abuse it to their advantage just the same.

So if these homes are full of carcinogens, they clearly are unfit for habitation to begin with ...

If O'Hare wasn't there, neither would any of the northwest suburbs ... O'Hare is what has kept Chicago from sinking any further economically than other comparably sized northern cities over the past 50 years.

And even if American and United go the way of Eastern or Pan Am (TWA is now American), you think any other major carrier is going to let the nation's 3rd largest O&D market sit hubless?!? Get a clue!! O'Hare is what built Bensenville and every other town adjacent to it. I bet not a single person living there has any idea how long the airport has been there, they just need something to complain about. Let the leveling begin.

Bensenville Village was incorporated in 1884 and it was railroads not airports that built every town adjacent to it with the exception of Elk Grove. O'Hare was officially opened to domestic commercial flights in 1955.

"you think any other major carrier is going to let the nation's 3rd largest O&D market sit hubless?!? " Who besides Southwest will be flying by the time this albatross is completed? You can always give it back to the military.

wow,
Looks like Daley is super confidant about the olympics. We will get the olympics because the committee knows how corrupt our city is and all memebers of the IOC will be living high on the hog after Daley uses the Pritzkers to somehow bribe the committe. O'Hare, Children's museum, Lincoln park. Beware, when Daley wants your land, he will get your land. Just better hope that Daley has no plans for where YOU live.
