Why Not? Seems it has been very helpful so far. People from all over the world see Bennington, VT and want to visit here. I enjoy watching the sunrise and Sunsets. When we have bad Weather etc.

There is nothing sinister or perverted about it.

I love Bennington and am Proud of it!

Elmer the Moose was OK, I was sitting at my computer editing Pictures when I herd the crash
and a whole bunch of swearing and cussing. I looked up and saw what happened. I called 911 I was sure someone had been killed it looked so bad.

As soon as I hung up with 911 the phone started ringing!

I am so glad no one was seriously hurt and I wish people would slow down, the speed limit is only 30mph not 50mph....

Good job Tim!

To record for prosperity all things good and bad. If there was one of these things watching MB when he was at large maybe he would already have been found guilty, sentenced and in jail for life like he should be by now. This camera has saved the taxpayers thousands of dollars and hours of police investigation already and it's just getting started. I wish there was one every 50 yards in this town. Maybe if there was and the criminals knew it Bennington would be a better place to live.

Look at the way the 17-year-old from Bennington driving a pickup. He might have been just checking to see if Kenneth Cestone was alright but if you ask me that looked like rage. By standers and Officer DiNunzio had to remind him to calm down. I think that Bennington Police Sgt. David Dutcher is wrong that just Crestone is at fault. Crestone had his directional signal on and had almost completed his turn when he was hit by the 17 year old. To me it looked like the 17 year old was driving a little too fast and did not show the same due caution that Crestone did. Given the distance the 17 year old should have been able to to avoid the crash. Speed was a factor and there should be a correction coming.

Did anyone watch the whole video or any of Tims videos of this intersection? See all the near misses that happen there. See how far drivers coming east on Elm St have to pull out to see north and south in South St. to make sure it's safe to proceed? Way past the stop line and into the cross walk. Thats not right. And this is before the town plants flowers in pots all around that intersection in a few weeks. You people know exactly what I'm talking about if you have been through that intersection. How many crashes there already? The flowers need to be gone and there needs to be a 4 way green, yellow, red light there because the stop sign system isn't working and neither would a blinking red only light system. Hurd and select board needs to view these videos and do the right thing right now before there is anymore injuries or death at that intersection.

Again good job Tim!

Very strange indeed! But the real question needs to be asked: Where is that webcam pointed when the night comes?

See what I mean.. I don't think the 17 year old was in a rage at all. seems to me he may be checking on the people in the other car... and the car did cut him off.. Goes to show you.. no matter how many people witness something or watch something.. Everyone will look at it in a different way.. Thank god there was no critical injuries..

I can't stand people like the driver of the car. People need to pull their heads out of their dingle-berries.

Is the webcam available for anyone to see? Why wasn't there a link to it in the article?

The car was making a left onto Elm from South and the pick-up was traveling South on South Street. The way the article stated, the pick-up would have crashed head-on into the car while one of them being on the wrong side of the road.

Good job Tim. The web-cam is a great idea and appreciated very much.

Whoa, that looked pretty bad on camera, lucky he hit the rear quarter panel. Looked like the VW was slowing down into the turn while the truck was speeding up.

Keep up the good work Tim....Just think of the other crimes that could be averted or solved if other citizens started doing the same. Then we wouldnt hear the liberal cries about big brother "spying"on us.

I know for a fact that the 17 year old speeds. He's been in trouble for it before he tells the story like he knows it was his fault but seems to think he will get away with it. Probably will but he shouldn't someone could have gotten seriously injured.

It was clearly the fault of the 17 year old,the other vehicle had nearly completed it's turn when the pick up crashed into it,there is no way that the silver car cut the pick up off,the pick was far enough away that is impossible, watch the video and anyone objective can clearly see it was the fault of the pick up unless you're blind. The driver of that pick up was going awful fast as far I am concerned! That camera has hepled out many investigations and I think it is great to see the live feed of downtown Bennington and all the goings on it invades no ones privacy unless they are doing something they don't want to be caught doing!!Keep up the good work Tim!

I think if you watch the video of the accident again, The car gets hit more to the front of the car, then to the rear. Anyone with a drivers license or at least the knowledge of driving knows if The teenager was to have hit the car more towards the rear it would be his fault. If he hit more towards the front end it would be the driver of the cars fault. I would have to say it in the driver of the cars fault by law. The teenager didn't appear by visual to be speeding. 25/30 mph looks faster on even live video. Then have the accident happen makes everything look faster because they do happen fast. blink of an eye..

As a truck driver for 48 years I have see my share of accidents, and it's very clear to me that the driver of the pick-up was driving too fast. And your explanation of who's at fault is pure hog wash. I don't know where you got your law degree, but if I were you I consider suing the school because you didn't learn anything. And if you have no law degree, you may want to consider doing some research before making coments like that.
