Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, William H. Morse State Airport is assigned "DUH" by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA...

A one runway airport receiving improvement cash
from the Fed..... God Damn, how much do those "Wind Socks" cost??????

I saw in the news that the people of Burlington do not want the new F 35 Fighter at their airport. So let us push to have the Bennington airport expanded so that the Aie Guard can come to Bennington. Just think of all the jobs this would make.

"Just think of all the jobs this would make."

Let us take a look at your words of wisdom Mr McNutt...
Locating a Air National Guard Unit in the backyards of approximately 40 multimillion dollar homes and numerous historical landmarks???

What the fck, why not!!!! And if your dream should come true, I would suggest you take up residence in the upper portion of the monument and report down to earth the locations of the impending cracks after a few sonic blast from these F-35's.... I bet they would even give you a plastic badge and a military style beret made from tinfoil to wear.....

Glad to see someone is looking out for the people that own multimillion dollar homes. As for me I am thinking about the people who have low paying jobs tnat might like a better future. Compare military pay & allowances with wall mart or add in banner or $12 dollars plus .73 cents for working third shift at NSK. You don't have to give me a beret I have them left over from my military service.

First off, there is no future in Bennville or Vermont for that matter as they cannot compete with other states which offer huge
tax incentives for new industry... For instance, Pennsylvania just offered Shell Oil $68 million to build a Cracker Plant north of Pittsburgh which would employ over 1000 people... Vermont has to count pennies just to lure WalMart into building Super Centers...

Trust me McNutt, I'm not looking out for those people who own million dollar homes in Old Bennville, but I sincerely doubt Bennville and the State of Vermont has the cash to fight something like that in the courts because we are talking about historical landmark homes and natural conservation areas off of Vail Road
and Walloomsac Road and Whipstock Road...

There seems to be a discrepancy in your statement regarding the "Beret" Mr McNutt... You admitted along time ago that you never served in the military and I will take you to the task of explaining how you wound up with a "Beret" giving your age....
"Berets" were only issued to Special Forces Units and Airborne qualified troops during the Vietnam era and it wasn't until 2001
that all Army troops started wearing them, regular Army Black, Rangers/Pathfinders maroon and Special Forces green.... Girl Scout berets don't count.... I was attached to a Pathfinder platoon with the 101st Airborne in Nam and I wasn't able to wear a beret with dress uniforms even though I repelled from choppers with these guys
going into fire bases and LZ's....

Business is the name of the game and making bucket loads of money is where it's at! Time to play though, just trying to decide where and how many to invite. Time for the partaking of Cubans and gallons of Crown Royal XR.

"COMPETE" with tax incentives?? You be one of the most poorly informed that the 101st ever had. Let me be the first to tell you Air Guard bases are not gained by tax incentives but by military needs. Paid for by the Pentagon. By the way was it not Army policy to send those not good enough for the 82 Abn to the 101st?? Repelled is just a fancy way of saying "DOPE ON A ROPE"

Such an injudicious fool you are....
Just where in my comment did I mention "Tax Incentive" for the Air Guard????? The comment was that in general, Vermont doesn't stand a fcking chance of luring major corporations into your shit hole
as compared to other states.... Vermont always was, and still is
a bottom feeder in respects to new industry....

I'm sure there are allot of veterans out there from the 101st who will get a massive chuckle from your inexpert theory McNutt....
For starters, the 101st was actually called the 101st Airborne/Airmobile/Air Assault during the Vietnam War... Those
"DOPES ON A ROPE" as you call them, were all trained by the 82nd Airborne, Fort Benning, and went on to advanced training, "PATHFINDER SCHOOL".... Now since you are so ignorant as to the
operations of Special Forces Units let me explain just what "PATHFINDERS" do...
Navigate cross country on foot
Establish and operate a day/night helicopter landing zone
Establish and operate a day/night parachute drop zone
Conduct slingload operations
Aircraft rappelling
Provide air traffic control and navigational assistance to aircraft within an operational site control zone.....

Well Golly Gomer, I do believe they go in first before those
Hammer Heads jump to ensure they have a safe LZ to land in...
They are all "JUMP QUALIFIED" but to put this into perspective,
there wasn't a hell of allot of parachuting going on in Vietnam
regardless of what you learned from John Wayne's movie....

I still wanna know how you got your hands on a beret because you
damn sure didn't get it from military service....

Reread your post #9 Line 3 tax incentive as we are talking about the Air Guard what else could you mean. Again 101st is now Dope on a rope. Does this nor mean they are non jumpers? and I am sure there are a lot or real paratroopers you know 82 Airborne who will say I am right.

Tax incentives for "new industry" is what I said numb nuts...

For someone "Who Claims" to have served in the armed forces,
your knowledge of "Airborne" sucks....

A cook in an engineering battalion can be "AIRBORNE"....
Anybody in the Army can be Airborne regardless of M.O.S. if
he or she applies for jump school....

And personally I resent your retarded comment concerning the
101st Airborne in Vietnam....

The 82nd Airborne was in Vietnam for only 22 months... The 3rd Brigade was the only unit from the 82nd to see action in Vietnam... They were to busy taking care of protesters in Washington, DC.... The 101st was in Vietnam for 7 years and fought in 15 campaigns one of which was Hamburger Hill... During those 7 years the 101st lost over 4,000 troops and had over 18,000 wounded in action.... The 82nd lost around 200 in I believe 3 campaigns...
I was attached to the 101st from the 525th Military Intelligence Group, MACV, Saigon from Nov 69 to Oct 70.....

Trust me numb nuts, nobody calls a Vietnam Vet from the 101st
a "Dope On a Rope" face to face if he enjoys life on this planet... Only chicken shits from Bennington Vermont do that
via the interweb....

I never said anything about Vietnam I said "DOPE ON A ROPE"which is now {ie 2012} Which means they were not good enough to stay as Paratroopers. If you were in Military Intelligance that must be why the Military never knew a thing about the tet offensive until it hsappened. By the way did you use childish name calling for the Viet Cong?

Yes, the year is 2012 and the need of Airborne units is nada/zilch
and they are just pretty little boys putting on shows at a local airport near you.... They were replaced by Stealth Technology
so I guess they could be considered the Dopes on a Rope here in the 21st Century.....

In case you have never read a book concerning the vast fck ups
by the Pentagon during the Vietnam War, I suggest you find one.... We turned in report after report concerning VC movement, but because allot of these reports were from Vietnamese Montagnard's, they were deemed inaccurate or exaggerated..... Numerous reports of MIA's classified as FLASH reports were filed in the trash can..... Does that give you a fcking clue as to what we were up against under Westmoreland and his group of Storybook Lieutenants at MAC V Headquarters????? Needing Congressional approval to send up an illumination flare during a firefight is no way to run a war.....
