Finally someone who is somewhat honest about the effects of the bypass! You can twist his words any way you like but the words eroding, concerned and bypass in two paragraphs and the tone of his statement says it all!
Good! At least this might cut down on the number of drunk drivers traveling between Bennington and Hoosick! |

Well for starters...you are supported by lots of folks...we are pulling for you...second you need to dump some bad waitstaff...hasn't been good staff there in years. roll in there on a friday pm. These girls would know your name and have your beverage ordered before we would sit down. They would make you feel like you belong to a "club" they were AWESOME! Third you need to lit a huge fire under the day bartenders A**! He is a puke! Fourth dont worry! You are a good guy and it will all work out for you. We will be more supportive!

Used to eat there every Friday or Saturday night with at least three couples. Waitress yelled at us across the room for making a mess and being to loud. You don't treat your regular customers this way and we were not doing anything wrong. The manager made her apologize but the damage was done. Never went back after that! Knew it was only a matter of time before they closed with that crew. Moved onto Kevins every weekend in North Bennington!

I loooove Carmody's and Carmody's west! Irish nachos are the best thing ever. I'm happy to hear they'll still be featuring the BBQ food, it's to die for!

Wait till the southern leg gets complete. Business's will drop like Persians at the hot gates.
The bypass is generous as it is divine, O King of Kings. Such an offer only a madman would refuse. But the, uh, the idea of kneeling, it's... You see, slaughtering all those merchants of ours has, uh, well, it's left a nasty cramp in my leg, so kneeling will be hard for me. This battle is over when I say it is over. |

"Remember us." As simple an order as a king can give. "Remember why this town died." For it didn't wish tribute or song. No monuments(although it does have a beauty), no poems of war and valour. Our merchants wish was simple: "Remember us," they said to me. That was his hope. Should any free tourist come across this place, in all the countless centuries yet to be, may all our voices whisper to you from the ageless stones: Go tell the Benningtonians, passer-by, that here, by political ignorance, we lie. So my town died and my brothers died... Barely a year ago, long I pondered my selectmen's cryptic talk of victory; time has proven them wrong. But from free Benningtonian to free Vermonter, the word was spread that bold Leonidas and his 300, so far from home, laid down their lives, not just for Bennington, but for all the merchants and the promise this town holds. Now, here on this ragged patch of earth called the shires,' our town faces obliteration! Just there the politicos huddle, sheer stupidity gripping tight; their hearts with icing fingers, knowing full well what merciless horrors we will suffer at the words and lies of broken promises. Yet they stare now across the plain at 10,000 Benningtonians commanding hundreds of business's [Faces the army] Haroo! The tourist go around us a paltry thirty to one; tough stats for any business. This day we rescue a town from ignorance and tyranny, and usher in a future brighter than anything we could imagine. Give thanks, men! To Leonidas, and the brave 300! To victory! Remember this day boys, for it will be yours for all time.
