The inital story said one of the kids had a shitty diaper and they were released to the grandmother who lives at the same address. How safe is that? I hope the feds get involved. 900 pot plants? That might be just "personal use" for these jokers.

I don't understand the logic of releasing the kids to the grandparent, either. It's possible the grandparent is aware of the activity and looks the other way; it's possible the grandparent is a participant. Those children do not belong in that home, given the conditions reported.

Why was the grandparent not arrested, too?

Stories like this dont do much good for drawing good people into the community! No wonder the area is full of bums like this!

So she is out? That is so scary- she needs some real serious long term rehabilitation ( they all do). So that next time she isnt found dead... ugh.

I'm sure all of the news reports include mis information. I've seen it happen many times. We the public will never know the whole story. I just pray where ever the young children are it is a safe nurturing enviroment.

Keep dreaming Alice, you'll get to Wonderland!

These kids will most likely grow up to be just like their parents no matter where they end up.

We need to stop allowing these people to conceive.

When will we learn?

This is a sad story all the way around. Somepeople grow past it and others don't. I just hope that someday the smarten up of I am sure will see 1 of them in the obituarys if not all 5 of them. Something should be done to help them, Then again I guess you have to want the help to get the help for it to work.

Don't let it bother you too much. Most individuals who post here are just using up time. As far as the Banner and other news reports go, they get thier facts wrong quite often. I also wouldn't put it past law enforcement to embellish the details for the media. The best thing you can do is help and enjoy your grandkids as much as posible. It's not easy raising kids the first time, never mind a second round, my hat's off to you. I don't care what anyone says I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers, this is a very difficult situation.

Where did you get your information? We can say lock them up in a rehab, If they do not want help it isn't going to work. maybe a 4 to 5 year rehab program under 24 hour supervision might work. there are as many drugs in jail as there is out. what is going to stop the from using in there?

I know these kids lost there father whom I had the most respect for, Yet there drug use is completely out of control and one of them could end up dead, now that would be a total waste of a human beings life. They need help but first things first they have to be convinced and showed that they each need help. and until that has been accomplished what else do you do with them? let them go and let them die?

I'm assuming m issy is saying she is the grandmother, since she's claiming this is slander on her behalf. If the police department released the kids to you, that isn't a lie. If you're living in a house littered with drugs as the police reported, it isn't a lie.

Someone having an opinion that you are either in the dark intentionally or that the children shouldn't be released to you isn't slander. It's an opinion.

If you're worried about your reputation and standing in the community, perhaps living in a hotel where syringes were found littering the area while young children ran around neglected and unattended to is not the best choice.

Even if it isn't a choice, you could always have called the police yourself to report these druggies. They have endangered these children with their drug use and negligence, and I question your ability to do a better job, given you live in the same space and this happened.
