Indiana chase suspect found dead in creek

State police said a body found in a southeastern Indiana creek is that of a man who fled police during a chase.

This is the best outcome when some moron "fled police during a chase." Well I guess its my favorite outcome. The part I like most is knowing that the odds of him getting out of jail and becoming a repeat offender are........somewhat slim. Glad nobody else was hurt.

i would like to say that i was a friend of devins he was a father a son a husband and a daddy he didnt always make the right decisions but he didnt deserve to die like that he paid for it with his life so check on ur own life and stop judging his i love and miss u

How come your news article doesn't mention that the police chased him with their dogs? Furthermore, why don't you mention that one of the officers threatened to shoot Devin Floyd if he caught him?(this is verifiable via the girlfriend that was in the car at the time of chase). There is more to this story.

I am his aunt. Devin was in the wrong with the law. He was NOT a murderer, nor a child moslester. They manage to get parole and freedom every day of the year.
He was a soul, a child of God (a sinner like us all), a person, a son, a nephew, a father, a grandson to my mother. His heart was good. His choices in finding a way to financially live were bad. Those who love him will continue to do so. Those who didn't know him will judge him from some news article and ASSUME they know the person. God be with anyone who's loved one makes bad choices in live and has to deal with aggressive police. I just wish the police were as aggressive with molesters, murderers and rapists. Those are truly the criminals in our midst.

Sorry for the loss of life, but a criminal is a criminal and all should be treated the same! Let's take on 3rd world countries punishments for criminals and watch this crap stop!!

The real crime here is the police leaving Devin in the creek for two weeks to die. Where is the proof he committed any crime? Just because he was being chased does not prove he committed any crime. He was a drug user and the police threatened to shoot him because of it. Devin never hurt anybody but himself. There are drug users in most every family. That does not mean they should be treated like a serial killer, child molester, rapist or murderer or threatened to be killed. Those of you making the nasty hateful comments on this forum are criminals themselves for inciting hatred and bias over something petty and not proven. Devin may still be alive today to clear himself if the police did not leave him in the creek to die. In fact, there are many policemen who are worse criminals that what they are trying to portray of Devin. Devin was a good person, and much loved and did not deserve to die in such a manner. The police should be held accountable for leaving him to die.

I don't think they waited two weeks to report it. It was probably two weeks before they identified the person as the one who ran.

I hope you never have to go through what Devin's family is going through now. I'm sure there is at least one person in your family going through (or who has went through) a similar situation as Devin was, I just hope your outcome is better and your family member gets the help that Devin deserved. This entire thing seems very suspicious to me.

First, After reading this website

and reviewing maps of the area, I have come to the conclusion that Devin would have had to backtrack immediately following his tires being blown by the stop sticks and would have been heading directly toward the pursuing officers in order to stop in the place they say he did.
Couldn't these officers capture him when he's heading right for them? How fast could he possibly go on blown tires? Why are they saying
"Slygh found the vehicle behind a medical office building, with the female passenger inside." Why did they say they didn't find him at that time? I believe that to be virtually impossible.

Second, Has Devin been released to his family? Has anyone in his family been allowed to see him? Why not? This is very strange...

Third, Am I the only one who finds it odd that the conservation officer was "following up on a two week old investigation"?? Why would they wait this long to look in the creek... wouldn't they have looked right away..or wasn't he important enough to look for? Either way, it doesn't look good.

Where was he found? Was it near where he supposedly went in? With the waters being up, would it have carried him further down the creek?

Going to shoot him...is that what I just read?? Sheesh, people, this reeks!!

This is very hard for me to do..but here goes. To all the ones who have expressed thier compassion....I thank you and God bless. To the ones who hold an extremely hard critic toward this incident: May you never have to experience anything close to this. I like to believe if you knew the entire story you would be more compassionate, maybe not, but keep in mind that anything can happen to anyone at anytime. there is also different levels of breaking the law and Devin made bad choices but never hurt anyone. So how can a good person say a criminal is a criminal, basically saying a murderer and a torturer is the same a any petty theif??? Do you really feel ALL "criminals" should recieve the same punishment? If so I feel very sorry for your family and especially if you have children or will have children, because no one is perfect....NO ONE!!!!

I wonder if you would make such comments or get such a thrill if this person were your father, brother, son or any other loved one. This case is still under investigation. The accounting of events and the way the situation was handled and reported is suspicious, sketchy and prejudiced. There are too many unanswered questions. There was no proof of any crime committed, only suspected. The only apparent offense was running from the police. I notice you make these type of comments on many forums and always quick to judge, condemn and incite contempt.
