Note to others, don't take your 2 year old to a cliff unsupervised.

What is a two-year old doing on a hike in the mountains? Can we better judgement?

It's called getting your kid ready for the summer 2026 olympic games.

Never too early to start training.

Wouldn't surprise me.

WLTX video says this was on the Skyline trail. Chimney Rock website says that this is a moderately strenuous trail. Why would you take a 2 year old on this trail, or like other have said, hiking at all? I took my 12 year old daughter to Chimney Rock a few months ago and we didn't do this trail because of that reason.

Best case scenario is bad judgement...worst case scenario is neglect and leaving a toddler unsupervised...charges could result from this

You can never turn your head for even a second with a toddler...anywhere. Things can happen in an instant.

A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says,
"Grieve not for me.

Remember the best times, the laughter, the songs
The good of my life I lived while still strong.

Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you.
Keep smiling, and surely,
The sun will shine through.

My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest,
Remembering all ... how I was truly blessed.

Continue traditions, no matter how small,
Go on with your life,
Don't just stare at the wall.

I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin,
Until the day comes, that we're together again."

MAY GOD BE WITH THE FAMILY AT THIS TIME..NO MATTER WHO THINKS THEY COULD HAVE DONE BETTER. THEY STILL NEED PRAYER.

Parents today want everything for their children.I think alot of it has to do with keeping up with the neighbors. Why not just let kids be what they will be.My son has his 3 year old in the blazing sun at a Nascar race today and the child could care less about the noise and race. When will we learn????

That reason is what we used to call Common Sense, that is why your daughter is lucky to have parents who appreciate the need to think about it first. No doubt the parents of this child are grieving but someone made a fatal decision and they are going to have to live with it. Have a nice week end.

Good afternoon Harry.

Just like the idiot who got boozed up, smoked some pot and took his kid hunting some people just don't get it. Insanity is a apt description.
