It was an honor to be asked to sing at the event. Then she dishonored everything, including herself, her race, and her song. She proved herself to be dishonest and untrustworthy, reinforcing accurate steriotypes of her race. Dr. King said "judge by the content of their character". Her character is terrible, Dr. King would be ashamed of her.

Oh I can see the shorts in a twist all over suburbia. Imagine! Someone singing a different song, not our national fight song!! The nerve! Freedom of speech being exercised in america!! No, we absolutely should not stand for it!!! Why, she should be thrown in jail along with all who don't love america enough. We should round up anyone who has the nerve to dissent and ship them off to camps.(and plus the camps would create jobs!) Absolutely. They are an imminent threat to good ameerican values and this should not be tolerated! All illegal immigrants too- then honest, hard working americans can pick their own vegetables for no money. God forbid anyone should step out of line. These deviants need to be stopped! People fought and died for our freedom and this is how she repays them? Through expressing herself freely!? Oh! The unmitigated gall! If you listen to the song, the words are about faith and victory, the kind of thing middle america loves and values, right? The nerve of that woman. I'm incensed.

If you have it so bad here then leave. You can always go back the "Mother Continent" where I'm sure you could have done much better for yourself with all the opportunities The Great Homeland offers. i used to live in denver and i'm not surprised. that lady is such an egomaniac and well known pain in the a##. if somebody hires you to sing a song, that's the song you sing. you can make your radical "statements" on your own dime.
