What do you know about Benld Elementary School, Benld Illinois Mine
Subsidence. Received call...school closed until further notice due to
catastrophic mine subsidence.

My daughter attended this school. The foundation of the school has shifted at least 6 inches. Parts of the flooring are offset by as much as 20 inches. This beautiful, well-planned school will never be used again. I commend the school staff and the residents and surrounding communities for pulling together during an awful time. Each and every surrounding school has offered assistance.
