what a crock.

Reminds you of CARB the way they change the rules in the middle of the game so eventually your motor vehicle/lawnmower/etc. will fail their testing.
Legalized extortion? And the people that bought pellet stoves that were being pushed to get rid of the log burners, they were betrayed. |

What's next? Government Agencies polute more than we could ever dream of, yet they want to fine us. They need to police themselves!

This could have horrible effects. Does this mean that all the good BBQ Places in the Bay Area have to close on those days?
This has the possiblity for for the end of mankind as we know it. No BBQ? Forget Tea Parties; BBQ Parties! Save our "Q", Save our "Q".......... Speaking of BBQ, Dutch and I will be hitting California's Central Coast mid-week, next week. Looking at test markets and of course sampling BBQ from Red-Oak! Look for us! |

If you cannot afford to heat with gas or electricity, then you are not entitled to a comfortable winter's night.
On cold days when the air is stagnant, the air itself is going to be browner than normal just from vehicle emissions and the Bay Area smoke stack industry such as the oil refineries and the steel mill in Port Costa. A ban on home wood fires will have the same effect as treating cancer with and aspirin and a bandaid. As long as there is a given population from the Bay area to Sacramento, there will never be air clean enough to please the environmentalists. |

True. But it makes regional government agencies look like they are doing something. Image. It's all about image. Feel good, gotta feel good too. |

Makes about as much feel-gud sence as providing flu vaccinations to terrorists but not having enough for American citizens.
Is the United States being steered in the right direction? Not only no but HELL no. |

How about cutting the price of heating gas in half on no-fireplace days? That might actually get some results. Yeah, yeah, it would require new meters.

Won't happen as much of the natural gas from American fields is exported to China and Japan. As with a lot of other comodities on the free market, the price of gas is dependant on supply and demand. And since China seems to carry a lot of U.S. Dollars in its portfolio, it is able to outbid PG&E and other American utility companies for existing supplies. |

Please explain the method of doing this? You're going to change my gas meter? At who's expense? |
|||
|
There is a 400 year supply of natural gas in North America and it's getting bigger all the time as new discoveries of gas are found.
Natural Gas is cheap, clean, totally domestic, and has an infrastructure in place to heat homes. Changing from gasoline vehicles to natural gas vehicles makes sense.$1.81 per gal in October folks. Even cheaper if you fill your car at home with a home fueling station. Less than a dollar a gallon then. You want to really spare the air? NGV's exhaust is cleaner than the ambient air. Cleaner than any gasoline powered vehicle. You want to really spare the air? Move to natural gas powered vehicles. |

Last straw. I'm outta here. Sure, the weather is nice and there are some nice people here... but it's not worth it. You guys can keep this Godless state. I'm going somewhere where at least I can have a viable voice in governance... where there are still enough normal, freedom-loving people who can band together against tyranny (at least at the local level).
You can't even light a fire on a cold night in Vacaville because someone in Davis might have asthma. Yet the Government injects mercury (vaccines) into our children and pours poison down our throats (fluoride). It's obvious that Government is all about CONTROL, not about protecting individuals. There may be no perfect place left in US, but there are sure as heck some better than California (unless you're Maria Shriver). |

Your barbecue and gas powered lawn mowers are next! We WILL control you... like it or lump it!

Article stated program is "voluntary" in Vacaville and Dixon. With all the other crazy things that you feel you have endured as a Californian.....it took the possibility of not having a fire in your fireplace to push you over the edge??? LOL |
||||
Voluntary. Did you know that paying personal federal income tax is "voluntary"? But guess what happens if you don't "volunteer"? Eventually you go to prison. I'm sure the "voluntary" portion is just the standard incrementalism we've seen in other dictatorial thrusts. Voluntary in Fairfield? No. In Davis? No. Sacramento? No. "Voluntary" and "incremental" tactics worked on the Jews, etc., in Nazi Germany. Just like you, they thought that if they just went along with the government, then things would work out. The time to speak out is NOW, not when you're headed to the showers!! |

I want a barbeque powered lawn mower. Let me tell you, the same thing will be coming to Dixon and the rest of the Yolo/Solano AQD. The reason it will come is you have numb skulls like the mayor of Dixon, Jack Batchelor affectionately known as BJ, who only know how to go along with the programs proposed by the bureaucrats. When was the last time this guy ever said no to someone of authority? His mommie must have trained him well... I am sure most of you have your own BJ's in positions of authority. This is why we suffer, not because of bad air. Maybe there would be less asthma problems as well as obesity if the little fat suckers would get out from in front of the Game boys and actually did something physical... |

Lol, Thimerosal hasn't been used since 2001 in childhood vaccines, and it's your choice to use a socialist product such as municipal drinking water. You should flex your free-market muscles and only drink privately bottled fluoride-free pure mineral water if you really care. Go about it Free-Marketeer. The great invisible hand of the free-market is tired of wanking you off to your libertarian fantasies. |

Next we will have : Czar of the Air ! Then we will be Taxed for breathing ! So much for all of those California Nanny Laws, and Obama Czars; Welcome to Obama Land, with Queen Nancy, BARNEY Ward, Barbara Boxer, and Harry Reid ! Real Trick and Non/ Treaters !
|
||||
I'm surprised you're pushing natural gas. Because I guarantee you that if everyone (or just the majority of us) were using natural gas in our vehicles the price would sky rocket. Plus you can bet the federal and state would raise taxes way up on it! No more buck-eighty-one a gallon for you! |
