It might be a sign sent to you. You could actually be the new raccoon whisperer. Try talking to him, reason with him. See why he started harassing you. He could have some deep issues he needs to express and he traveled from a far distance just to talk with you. Use your talents, don't suppress them, the world needs...The raccoon whisperer!! Good luck my friend!

Townie, ive trapped several possums with out a liscence {or however it is spelled}. Just take the coon , put it in your car or truck, drive it several m9iles away from where you live, and release it. However, I mist Warn you, open the trap and get away fast causer the critter might decided to attack you . Mostly cause it is trapped in a close space and pissed off.

If you kill it, you are an idiot. Tell me where to come to and I will come and take it, transport it, and let it go in the wild. I don't care about the laws, I'll transport it with no problem. Done it before. And I'll even leave you a deposit on your trap until I return it to you.

Do not kill this animal.

It is very wrong first of all to set traps to catch Racoons, then kill them. yes, there are millions of them, also there are millions of people, but we don't want to cage and kill humans.
why not release it in a wooded area away from you.
whoever said to drown or feed it antifreeze is a sick-o. people have small minds to think like that. karma is going to come back to them big time.
do the right thing, stop trapping them, leave them alone, they are not hurting you. its their life!!!

I called around a little and found somebody who said they would take it, since it seemed like it was probably tame. They said they were going to be there at like 6 and i waited and waited, but they didn't show. So, i filled a trashcan with water and dunked it.

Wouldn't you know, just about the time it stopped moving, they pulled up in the driveway! Sad, but oh well, like i said there are millions of raccoons out there.

Lots of "city" people are using bows. Since you can't discharge a firearm in the city you can release an arrow.

Put him inside the cage in bed of your truck. Take him to the nearest elkhorn creek crossing and toss him in. If you don't want your cage back just toss him off a bridge. If you want your cage back then be sure to have a rope tied to it so after you toss it into water after a few minutes you can retrieve it.

Call animal control before you kill an innocent animal. You can also transport it and relocate it to a wooded area and release it. There is no law against that; we have done it many times with possums.
My daughter is a wildlife biologist. She says it is illegal to relocate coons as they are a rabies vector.
