Toyota received money during the downturn , from THEIR government , not the US because it is NOT a US Company ! Also the Japanese government funded the initial hybrid investment for Toyota. As for Japanese plants being union , who cares , they also have housing and a job for life . They do not get to transfer to other shops or stuff lime that either . The pay is less and that's why the bonuses are higher...

you've been swallowing the toyota koolaid my friend (japan pay is lower).. tmmk took a 10k pay cut (from bonus $$) during the big downturn from which they will never recover. japan workers bonuses stayed the same and actually have risen a couple thousand dollars. we make less than we did 10 yrs ago and they make more. pretty simple

Again. Their production is being sent here. We produce cars here to ship there. Why is that?

That is patently false. There is a difference between subsidies and bailouts. The Japanese government did not bailout Toyota. Toyota had billions in cash reserves. The hybrid was given a subsidy....not a bailout. The US government gives out subsidies all the time.

You do realize, I guess, that you are doing the absolute best job representing the union? You fit all union stereotypes - bullying, swearing, name calling, moving off-topic... Keep it up. Sometimes your "intelligence" is your own worst enemy.

"yada" is a union buster invention. He's there to portray a stereotype to which the union buster will come in and say, "see there's one of them". "yada" and whatever others that may come are straw men designed to be taken down.

=====

For those of you who want to work on a union drive in TMMK, don't talk to anyone about anything "union" yet. There will be snitches from the company. The snitches are loyal to the company and work with HR and Labor Relations and will profile you as you work.

You are to profile them. Make note of who the snitches, companymen, pro-union, anti-union, etc.

Make a list:

Name, section, male, female, position, etc.

And put all that on your spreadsheet. that will all be used later during the union drive.

In the meantime, lay low and do a great job learning the Toyota Production System. The TPS system itself will be used to successfully mount a union drive. Learn it.

Also, keep up on issues pertaining to labor, labor rights, political issues , etc. If you're informed, you will see through the lies and games from the union busters.

Here's an intro video to union busting:

You can't be a union buster at a plant that's never had a union. When I hear union buster I think 1950's. Join us in 2013 where unions are on life support and Toyota is thriving union free in a shitty economy.

Toyota is the number one carmaker in the world. Check your facts again. Ford has the F-150. That's great. They also won't be able to sell them if gas gets to $4 again. Ford didn't take a bailout and their workers have a little more since than Chrysler and GM. They made concessions to avoid a bailout......you should hate Ford.

You really have a hard time accepting reality don't you?? You are so focused on being right that you will ignore any fact to the contrary. Your post are shot down like wet ducks and then you cling to a sliver of "what ifs" to try and save face. Since you know so much about everything and what's best for you, it seems you would want a voice in how your workplace is ran? I'm sure you could tell them execs a thing or two about how to run a company better

I go to work and do my job. I don't care about executives. I'm treated well and paid well. I am happy. I choose to concentrate on what's important like my family and not trying to squeeze more money out of Toyota or the soap opera and propaganda of unions.
Regarding facts.....you just told a lie. Toyota is the worlds #1 automaker. They hit that back in the winter. They wouldn't have lost it if not for the tsunami. You totally ignored the Ford union concessions. What was their union thinking? They could have taken the bailout like the others. Thoughts?

I am not. If anyone is Yada it's you. There are other posts with Yada from a long time ago. He's been on here for years. I couldn't come up with the dumb shit he writes. He's one of yours and a good representation of unions. He is the rank and file and the reason unions are failing.

No, you're full of ship... You left the old company you were at to come to a BETTER PAYING JOB!! A job that pays better than your last one because THEY HAVE TO PAY AUTO WAGES TO STAY COMPETITIVE! A PAY SCALE DICTATED BY UNIONS!!!! Now, you act all righteous and criticize others that also want more from life! You want to play word games when you know that the union car companies are very strong and grow or fall right along with the non union ones!! It's the economy that dictates this, NOT A UNION! But your pea brain grasps for anything you can associate with being right. In the long run.....all you have accomplished is making a lot less in your life

GM and Chrysler had to be bailed out because of bad products and bad union deals. Toyota produces a better quality product for less. That's the bottom line. I've heard this argument that the union makes everyone's wages for years now......it's a bullshit argument. You keep saying we make less than the union.....what's your point?, we make less but I'm happy with it. It's an easy job, I'm probably overpaid. If you want to make big money go to school and get a degree in something lucrative.......it will surely be non union though. GM and Chrysler are not strong companies. They still owe billions in taxpayer money. They will fail again. Hopefully there will be no bailouts next time.
