I do appreciate the value of a good education but isn't the purpose of a good education to get a good job that pays well? If this kid is already doing this at 15, what is the need for him to be more educated. Money is important in all cultures, Not just ours.

That's not something to brag about!! Your 15 year old should be in school getting an education instead of "working" like an adult. Sad that you all think the world revolves around money. You should be letting your children expand their knowledge instead of pulling them out of school after 4th grade. Just by reading ITs responses on this forum, you can tell the level of education isn't the greatest.
My children will most likely have a job at 15, but not to be compared to an adult. They need to learn responsibility & take care of their own gas & spending money. Definitely not an adults income to support a house/family. They are still children & need to be treated as such.

You are just wrong..Life is hard, the sooner you learn to converse with the larger world the better..White Americans have degenerated to a non-White mean, we'll all be up at daybreak moving forward tomorrow morning...No welfare

You can say that they are home schooled all you want. I am very for home schooling! In fact I am going to be home schooling my 2 children starting next year & have several friends that home school. With that being said.... There is also no real proof that the state needs to show they are actually learning anything. There needs to be more accountability for home schooling in Texas. Only time you really have to have proof is when they enroll in college. Since we all know that's not going to happen for I.T's you all don't have anything to worry about. That's how you all get away with it. Pretty sad.
Yes, life is hard and a lesson everyone needs to learn BUT why rush a child into that? Why make them loose their childhood happiness & innocence early, just to show them the real world sucks. Let them be kids, hang out at football games with other kids their age. Do normal things. Why make your girls start scrubbing floors and working like a maid & your boys driving all over the U.S doing whatever "work" they do.
As far as welfare... I've never been on welfare. I am married with 2 children & have earned everything we have. I've never been handed anything free. Yes there are people out there that live off the government, don't work for anything. But with total honesty & being really blunt.... what's the difference in living off the government (welfare) and what you all do? You drive all over the U.S. doing scams or doing 1/2 the job and getting paid and taking off. You all didn't earn that money just like people on welfare didn't earn their money. You are taking advantage of people and their situations.

You know not of what you speak..A large percentage of the work I do is repete business and referrals from happy customers..Most of us have either a circuit of customers who we work for all the time or a permanent base of opertions..Are there some of us who have overcharged someone on occasion..Certainly..That can be said of any group of contactors..The most successful of us do not have to.The vast majority of my business finds me on the internet..The Amish also stop their childrens formal education at about 14, for simular reasons..

The Amish are graduating high school at 14. They are in a school, not saying they are homeschooled and aren't really. They also are working on their own land, growing their own food. Not over charging for crappy paving or roof jobs! There's no comparison to Amish & I.T. nice try.

You think you can brush me off that easy. You need to pull up you boot straps and get to work. I have seen you use this spanis term several times when trying to defuse and redirect. It's not out right rude but it softens the blow of saying mind your own damn business with put being threatening. Now try again.

You are a disgrace as a parent and caregiver to a child. While a little hard work at 15 for a boy is good during the summer. They shouldn't be out on the road learning the con game. They need to go up and learn to make their own life choices. But then again if you're not allowed to make said choices you don't know how to teach that to your own kids.

They don't want them to be kids And hang out at football games with their friends. They had rather let them jump in a cab go someplace with a group of their own kind while dad is at the silver dollar getting pissed drunk the kids can go ransack a store for fun and get free "stolen" candy and sodas or whatever they can get their grubby little ha ds on. Mind you these are real youngsters cuz if they are 15 they are on the road selling blacktop paving.

Who wouldn't want their 15 year old kid hanging out at the football game? Sneaking around the back to smoke some pot. Maybe even get pregnant like every single non traveller in America does.

All non travellers have no morals. They are pedophiles and murderers. They cheat on their spouses. They rob banks and liquor stores.

Not all are sneaking around smoking pot and definitely not all are pregnant. I went to all my high school football games and have never done drugs. I've never even smoked a cigarette. I didn't have my 1st child until I was 23. Not saying it doesn't happen, but you said "ALL"

I'm a non traveler and haven't done any of these things AND have great morals. Sorry if some of our above comments offended you to the extent that you feel the need to bash us.... Calm down and take a deep breath. There's no need to get your panties in a wad. I would say we are all adults, but you may not be. You could be 15 for all I know....

I know Cents well enough to know he's neither 15 nor actually serious about his hyperbolic comments there..But going over the top to show just how unbelievably bigoted many of the comments here have been towards a entire class of people...Us.

Oh I'm sorry, I thought it was ok to get on here and make blanketed statements about a group of people that I know nothing about. I'm only talking about things I read in the paper or see on tv.

And now I've found this thread! I hope I didn't run some of you off the other one...hardly my intent!

The last time I looked? Texas was second to last in ranking for SAT scores, only trumped for that honor by Mississippi. It is #1 in the nation for high school drop-outs and #1 in the nation for unwed teenage pregnancies. To top it off? Texas' overall literacy rate in America is DEAD LAST. If I were any non-IT in Texas trying to shame ITs for their children not being in school? I'd think twice about that.

Stop judging others based on morals and academic prowess you claim but just cannot back up based upon bare Texas statistics.
