I think the new "eagle" logo is OK, but the tail design is over-the-top and distracts away from the new font and eagle logo positioned at the forward fuselage

Oh no. That logo has the feel of Mexicana's final logo. And that tail is about as unrefined looking as an LACSA bird or some nasty cargo operator at Miami. Meanwhile, the flat paint looks strictly military issue. Could it be any worse than this?

The new tail design will take quite a bit longer. Looks like the USPS meets an Air France off shoot

Far easier to keep US Airways logo now. What an eyesore AA's new colors are. Which ad agency created that monstrosity

To my fellow brothers and sisters, the AA aircraft livery is a symbol of what we stand for. No matter what design has been chosen, we should be proud that OUR AIRLINE has and will continue to represent this wonderful country that we love and call home by displaying the Eagle and the Red, White, and Blue stripes. There will be no doubt that wherever we fly in the world, we are American Airlines! The new livery is to tell the world that we have changed and are moving forward. Bury the hatchet. Let’s all do our part and make us again the once proud airline of the USA doing what we do best.

Godawful Tail! Looks like the logo for an Auto Parts store. So sad to see AA look so cheap.

What madness is this....a bankrupt business spending money on a paint job, just before a likely merger with another brand who will paint over those tails in a heartbeat.

This is the management team that led AA into BK. Is it any wonder they are there?.. Actually I think it's an American tradition to come out of BK with new paint schemes and logos, they all do it. Just wish they'd have had an employees contest or poll at least. They paid alot of money to this firm for a look that will take some getting used to. Another waste of money.. I'll bet they laid off or cut the pay of a very talented employee who could have done better at a fraction of the cost.

American had such a classic look, that didn't need to be changed ever. United's old colors (orange/blue)were hiatus and dated, before the grey/blue, same with continental, but their logos were great. Pan Am same, logo was great, same with styling for twa which had classic styling and logo, that would have never of needed to be changed either. Just don't get it. Point is total waste, nothing had to be changed.

Sure would have been easier, way nicer, and alot cheaper to slap on TWA's last colors with American titles.
New branding is just plain sad sad sad. Surejet pardon me Sorryjet, did not get it right the first time, perhaps AA Exec branding egos need to take a page out of that book.
Probably they are all still in a luxury London townhouse airline paid for in an exclusive neighborhood somewhere.

These boobs have been in Chap 11 for over a year, lose money into the billions every 3 months but yet they have money to waste painting airplanes with a new paint scheme. Whoever approved this ought to be fired on the spot.

Gawd how old are you folks..........change is good, actually change is great. They essentially had to rebrand because all the new jets have a non-sheetmetal surfacethat would look awful unpainted. All US AL's have rebranded. Even SWA. I love the new AA livery. I love DAL's livery post BK. USAir has changed their livery. UAL/CAL kept the best of both carriers but I think a bit boring. The younger folks love new paint schemes and getting their lifelong biz is more important than keeping you older folks happy. LOL!!!!!!

well its ugly. They could also paint it a silver sheen. 80 percent of the boards across all airlines/industry agree its ugly. Who determined this at this time? The board maybe, forcing this on Horton. He's bean counter finance guy so I can't see him in bk investing in this, but a finance guy might also may not understand how underwhelming it looks, so he may have rubber stamped it. Hopefully its not the case of too many yes men saying it looks great boss. Maybe its better in person, but too many fair people all agree, even in person say that its a NO!

Ur comments reflect days gone by and not the future of business. grocery Stores, AL's, Paint Stores..........all biz. rebrand. Silly old folks.
