I just wanted to know if the honor roll school districts include those children with disabilities in their testing scores. I know some districts send those students out to other districts who are more capable of educating those students with disabilities. If that is correct, than the honor roll is not an accurate account of certain districts. I choose to live in a school district that educates ALL students living within it's perameters and am very proud of it's score. It would be nice if a disclaimer was noted about these districts at time of publication.

I pay attentian to these rankings as I grew up in Williamsville and it is ranked #1. I reside in the Orchard Park school district for these reasons. #4 is very good. Taxes in Willaimsville and Clarence are abit much but I live in West Seneca and can afford this all in the name of good education. And my children benefit from attending these schools in O.P. My fiance's son attends Eden schools and now I can understand why it is ranked 18th. Resources, if needed are important and may come into the choices you make on where you choose to reside if it matters to you. And no sacrifice is too small or too big for my childrens' education.

I guess you don't know anything about teaching. I don't teach in Buffalo, but I bet they are the best teachers in this country. They are teaching many students with disadvantages you can't even imagine. You can't understand a story about a zoo, if you've never been to one. Who cares about paying attention in school when you've just witnessed something horrific at home, again. Many of these neglected students also have disabilities. Don't cast a stone if you don't know what you're talking about.

Instead of taking the time to come up with a "good & bad" list, why not take the time to find out what "bad" needs to be "good"

To see Buffalo at the bottom doesn't surprise me. Only an ignorant person would say the teachers need to teach better. These teachers deal with learning disabilities and behavioral issues. They are way under-staffed and they are unfortunately working with little resources. People that can afford to live else where can care less, but the people who end up stuck in Buffalo pay the ultimate price. Children are witnesses to things you can only imagine if you live in the suburbs. It's so sad! How many years does a school have to finish last before the higher-ups step up to the plate? This is a shame!

I feel the Buffalo Public School system needs to get their act together and support our kids. We see more fighting between school officals on the News than the good things going on in the schools. Students should always come 1st, and the rest which is business should come last. The make-up of the area does not matter rather rich or poor, EDUCATION is the key to our kids future.

La-alumni is from Lackawanna... not Olmsted Falls... I have a high honor student in Lackawanna... I am very proud of her. She works hard for her grades. The kids need support and the Lackawanna guidance and the teachers federation are top notch... The politicians need to go... keep the politics at city hall and out of the schools

To say that Buffalo teachers need to teach better is an extremely ignorant comment. I am a teacher at one of the "lowest" schools in the ranking, and the teachers in my district work long hours and are very dedicated to our students. School doesn't just end when the students leave at the end of the day, and it doesn't end in June, either. Teachers work hard before school, after school, and over the summer. Sometimes it doesn't come down to what the teachers do in the classroom that makes a difference, it's the support at home that does. Teachers love children, and want what is best for them, but we can't do it alone. Parent involvement is the key to a successful education, and when that is hard to come by, so are good rankings. Please don't let the rankings fool you. The teachers in the lower ranking disticts are just as qualified to teach in the higher ranking districts, and the children are just as "smart" as the children in the higher ranking districts. It's just the cards are dealt a bit differently.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Virgo

Mercury is turning retrograde at just the right time, because it's telling you to consider the validity of your long-term aims and aspirations. If they stand about as much chance of seeing the light of day as you do of winning the Lottery, then you need to streamline them or even abandon them and start again. So think about what you want from life and how you're going to get it. Children and romance may be quite erratic during this phase.
