Every once in a while a flower blooms in a bed of thorns. Carolyn McElfatrick is one of those flowers. A woman politician is not a common occurrence, a great woman politician is as uncommon as she is priceless. The citizens of Minnesota House District 3B are/were fortunate enough to have Carolyn represent us in St Paul. She is a tireless worker for truth, justice and the American way.
I do not always agree with her, but then she represents everyone, not just me. You may not always agree with her but she will listen to you, talk with you and respond to you. She can explain to any voter why she takes a stand on any issue which is a hell of a lot more than many politicians I know. She brought with her a measure of sanity to legislating and she actually does what we tell her to do and to do what we want done.
Carolyn has met with and worked with representatives of the mining industry, logging industry, small businesses, veterans organizations, cities, counties and with individual citizens on problems that face them (and us) day in and day out since the day she began to serve
The people of district 5B will be pleased with the work she can and will do for them. I donít know her opponent Tom Anzelc who is probably a good person, but please carefully look at Carolynís record and that of her opponent before November 6th so you pick the right person to represent you (ALL of you) for the next two years in St Paul.
This is not intended to be canonization, beatification or coronation. It is however about an important election which will help determine what kind of state we live in for the next two years.
If I know Carolyn, between now and election day she will have knocked on most of the doors in District 5B. Take the time to listen to her and see for yourself what kind of representative has been since 2010 and what kind she will be if you re-elect her to the House of Representatives. 375 words
