Check the DNR website regarding Wildlife Management Areas. These are state owned parcels managed by the DNR. You will find there are over 1300 of them. How much land does the state need to own?

This was a done deal before July 19, 2010.
Long before Beltrami County voted on new regulations

WHat bugs me is the FACT that the State of Minnesota owns all kinds of land that is landlocked. YES ther is NO EASY ACCESS to MILLIONS of acres of land and the only people that can easily use it are the ajacent private property owners.
Of course IF you have a IN with the DNR you can lock up all kinds of state property for your own private use.
If the phocking DNR or any state agency owns land then it's PUBLIC LAND and the PUBLIC should have access to it!!!
Otherwise sell it to the highest bidder and get it on the tax roles!!!
