Look he is helping Sevier County again. I had the pleasure of helping create the landscape at Jim's new home in Vonore, and this house is amazing. He is a good person that likes to help people. Thanx Jim!

He is also responsible for bringing the Bass Pro Shop to Kodak. I wonder what else he will do for this county.

Good ole "Jim" got all the money from the taxpayers in his TIF scheme for the Bridgemont group, so he can afford to give a little back to where it came from. Bass Pro Shop is another major player in the TIF scam that is sweeping the country. I think Jim's donation to the library is a little bit of a guilty concience. I too wonder what else he will do to this county?

And knowing our government and how to make money is a bad thing. jim has never developed on a mountain side and has told me personally that he never will. he is a good person that loves to help people any way he can. He paid me $20 an hour cash to lay sod at his new home in vonore. my wife works at his business in Pigeon Forge, and she makes a good living doing what she does. Just because someone develops land and brings in business for jobs and revenue does not make them a bad person.

"Knowing government and how to make money" is very different from knowing government workers and using them to help you make money-at taxpayers expense. You can crow all you want to about how good Jim is, pardon me if I don't agree.

Keep going kid, you are really get in a hole you are not going to be able to climb out of! We just can't print out these unsolicited statements fast enough! Any person in the United States can work fo cash and the employer can pay you cash as long as iy does not total over $600! Know what you are threatening bfeore you do it. Well maybe he does some things I don't know about, but he cares more about the environment and the people of this county than any other investor you will find. If he is doing something illegal then he should be punished accordingly.

Saying that Jim Caulkin cares more about the environment than any other investor I can find is a bit like swearing he is the best crook in the county. The Bridgemeont Group straightened the river against state laws, filled in floodplains against state laws and ignored all the stormwater regulations of the state and Sevier County. Money rules. They expanded the golf course and cut down an entire rookery (nesting site) for Great Blue Herrons - an endangered bird, just to expand the golf course for visiting golfers. Sorry, Jim aint no environmental crusader and Doug Bishop will look the other way for any developer. I believe ole Jim does alot of things you don't know about.

Ole Doug was the one that recently presided over the PBA group that voted deliberatly to ignore the advice of their attorney and go ahead and break the law. These are the types of honest, hardworking leaders that we have here working so hard for us taxpayers. Pathetic.

Go ahead Dougie, OK, Go ahead PBA, Ignore my advice, I'm just an attorney. You guys are the real masters. Just do what you want. Boys will be boys, he he he. It is so childish and they don't even see it. Red rover, red rover, send Dougie right over...

If Dougie had a choice, would he prefer to be working for 'other PBA'- the right-hand, arm & leg as extended by the County Mayor - I believe he could get more out of Larry than he can out of Brian!
Could these 'two' be in competition - who could suspect that, sometimes they come together and all join hands and dance around the flagpole. It isn't always photo day, as much of the 'activity' is done in the dark - dark as in lack of exposure and transparency, read all about it!
The Mountain Press couldn't catch up on the reporting potentially available if they doubled their force and split Stan Voit in half! They have tips rubbed under their noses, but the habit has long been formed, too late to teach old dogs new tricks - besides it's cold now and dogs don't hunt in cold weather. Wait 'til spring comes 'round - maybe they will catch the scent if not the hint!
Is SevierCorruption moving in the direction of the PBA, as they work the peripheal in circling the courthouse as they go round and round..........they might be lucky enough to catch the bagman coming and going to and fro the Mayor's office if the cycle could be taped into.
I wonder if SevierCorruption has hunting dogs or how is it their timing is so perfect in sniffing out theses issues, which seem so perfectly timed - the wind must be blowing in the right direction, a part of that global warming we're hearing so much about these days, maybe?
Pray for warmer weather, sharp dogs with keen smellers, or even some carrier pigeons swarming us. Don't hesitate to join in, take a ride through the industrial parks and see all the new developments, see where your $$$'s go when you aren't looking - pack a lunch, ride a bike, take a walk - lots of nice green grass where you can spread a blanket in a few locations, think big, expect a lot - sit tight, have fun!! I am.

If you think any developer or Dollywood gives a flip about the people of Sevier County you are on the wrong planet. The only thing they all care about is the almighty dollar. This is all anyone cares about. Everyone says that they care until it affects your pocket. Does anyone have a shred of proof of what they are saying about Jim? Probably not!!!

There are many employees working for Hillary and that does not make her honest by a long shot. Got proof??? Didn't think so.

Do you know Hillary personally? If not, that's a very bold statement. You damage your credibility when you make comments like that. You may know Jim...if he is crooked, no one would believe you now because your comment about Hillary wasn't credible. Please try to find better examples. While you're doing that, I'll be campaigning for the first female president. Half a Mind wrote: Looking over some of your comments, it looks like that's all you care about as well. I think McCain will look like a bumbling fool in a debates with Hillary as we get closer to the general election. He appears weak and easily rattled anyway, without the pressure of debating an articulate and knowledgeable opponent. Americans have had enough of the idiots. I think they'll elect her, in spite of the unstable, right wing fundamentalist element. Those books...I've read a few of them. Sensationalist garbage. One author tried to say she was a bad person because she wore sweatpants in college and a pantsuit in the courtroom. Fear tactics have worked for a very long time, swaying minds to preserve a patriarchal society. If you're a man, does it make you nervous to think that your world is changing?

I like those spirited debates, especially when they are informed, intelligent and honorable. The combination is difficult to find when people who are passionate and uniformed get on the proverbial soapbox constructed by the sheep of the religious right. I am not sure if there are many people who would ever say there is a right woman at the right time. Worse things were said about Margaret Thatcher back in the day. Change is shocking to most people. People resist change for all kinds of reasons. In this case I think she's the best candidate because of her critical thinking skills, action oriented behavior and her balanced leadership. She gets the common people's issues, but is savvy and resilient enough to handle the hard core requirements of the job. Speaking of McCain and his POW experience, there are many in the psychiatric field who would suggest that to survive those kind of conditions, McCain would have had to develop some substantial dissociative skills. I think I'd rather have someone who was totally tuned in...not someone who mentally disconnected when the going got tough. I saw that happen to him in a live interview a few weeks ago. It was painful. All due respect, I am grateful for his service. I just think his time has come and gone. As for Obama...he's just not fully baked yet. He needs to go back in the oven for a few more years.

I once had a professor who said that contrary to popular belief, the "fifties" was a horrible time in American history-- not a decade of fun and poodle skirts, and that it is interesting to see how history treats administrations over time. For example, we remember Nixon's relationship with China about as much as we recall Watergate...and that's only been thirty or so years ago. I think Condi, while skilled, has too many years ahead of shaking off the fleas she acquired during her years with Bush to be favorably considered. Your second choice?
