Why all the fuss?
If it's your teenagers you are worried about about, I'd say it's time to talk to them about marijuana. The club is not going to sell it to them, or anyone under 18. I would be more worried about your kids having access to drugs at school. I grew up in Marin, and I remember the Redwood High kids throwing huge parties with kegs and the whole deal. Marin Catholic - even worse. By the time I was in 8th grade I already knew plenty of kids who had already started experimenting with drugs and alcohol. Yes it is legal, and your personal beliefs are not a reflection of the wants of the community. Read through some of the testimonials people have made on the stories about the clubs. You will find out that a lot of people in Marin welcome this or have a need for it. It's not just a bunch of stoners, drug dealers, gang members or whatever names you want to call. In fact, some one you know probably uses the stuff. People need to pull their heads up out of the sand and do a little more research on the topic so they really understand. There are so many valid arguments in favor of medical marijuana that never get heard unless people are willing to actually listen before making a rush to judgment. Among other things, medical marijuana means less reliance on harsher medications like pain killers, a reduction in illegal dealing in the surrounding area, and hundreds of millions in tax revenue for the state. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. |
