Sausalito cop gets DUI award

A Sausalito police officer has been honored by Mothers Against Drunk Drivers for racking up 75 DUI arrests in 2008, likely the highest individual tally in Marin.

No one supports DUI but most who go out for dinner do it...look around Marin restaurants/bars. Its a long standing tradition...especially at lunch at the "old timers" places which seem to be exempt from DUI enforcement...I wonder why? Someones (a cop's) uncle owns a few of these joints.

No , I agree. Basically a one road town so I assume that would be an advantage. Good. They need all the advantages they can get .Just saying if you get a d.u.i.,you were not profiled , you were not trapped , you were over the legal limit.Regardless of the method used , if your sober and have no other violations ,you will be on your way.

Still you've got to admit they have a big advantage, unless of course the driver(s)decide to go eastbay route that most likely would increase DUI's.Can't have that now can we?

Sausalito's geography has nothing to do with it, I see more Sausalito cops making traffic stops on the freeway then I do CHP officers whenever I'm in Marin..
